#FutureIsAMD

Only seeing the twitter feeds. Just saw the one with all 3 holding a 8100 Firepro

If they don't have anything for us but this crap, I hope everyone learned that Roy@AMD #fullOfshit.

:p

Well, so much for AMD dropping a bombshell. Nothing to see here folks...move along...go back to ordering your 970s and 980s.

Edit: It's a shame too. I was really hoping they'd announce something that would make me think twice aboit ordering 2x 970s. Let's be real though, we were actually hoping for a major announcement to come from a random conference in India...yeah, how did this idea catch so much traction, again?

Roy@AMD should get the blame.

There is a certain Irony in this launch in India. The message is the future is AMD but what they did at this launch is relaunch a bunch of products that were already on the market elsewhere.

At a launch where you claim the future, you don't launch old products.

I think he mentioned there would be competition and people assumed there would be some major reveal at this event. Besides, he's in sales, and will likely say anything to retain customers. LOL.

IMHO, it was kinda obvious there wasn't going to be a reveal. No leaks. In India. Etc. Now there are rumors that they won't have a response for about 6 months.

This.

And 390X in 1H 2015. Just in time for nVidia to own them with the 980ti. AMD, what a joke.

Why wasn't AMD prepared for the Maxwell? They had a year to do so.

Can't believe how easily they have conceded. What about price cuts?

Yep looks like we are waiting now for 20nm. Nvidia is gonna get the lions share of holiday orders this year. Looking forward to what 2015 bring from both camps, AMD sure has a fight on their hands with Maxwell though!

Lol, it takes more than a year to design, tape out and then manufacture a brand new architecture...prices are already pretty low

Looking at GTX 980s performance, seems like 980 Ti and Titan 2 will be extremely powerful.

With Titan 2 touting twice the performance per watt than Titan black which roughly translates to a 30% boost.

That is just huge. AMD better have something to contend with what's coming.

What we are seeing here is the R&D focus for the the console design wins, as a result the discrete GPU tech has fallen a bit behind. But rest assured, with all of that money flowing in from all the console sales, they will have an answer to Maxwell for sure. But im betting that the full focus is on 20nm now, would be silly to release a chip so close to the switch. Bermuda @ 20nm will be awesome

At this point, everything on AMD's side is unproven. Whereas nVidia seems to be holding all the big cards up and throwing them as needed.

I guess Maxwell has given nVidia an edge that they have not enjoyed for a while - even though they still made great sales.

Lets be honest. They had more than 1 year, that's just since the R9 290/290X release which was their full Titan basically. AMD waited nearly 2 years to do a proper refresh. They have time for days to perfect their next gen architecture. The node was the only thing holding them back.

Unless AMD anounces something life changing here soon as far as competition to the 980 and 970 I for one will be switching. About time to move on from my trusty 6970.

so AMD is now choosing all these exotic international beach/resort locations for their GPU reveals?...Hawaii, Goa...is Rio next?

thats why its called sea island.. and they name all the cards with island names.. Bonaire, Pitcairn, Tahiti, Tonga, Hawaii, you got there.. =)..

Humm glad to see some rumors of a new version coming from AMD. I just wonder if they can lower their power footprint.
