Okay folks due to an accident I now have a fair bit of cash to spend on some hardware. Basically I am building a new tower unit. I have the case I want to use, Lian-li V2000.
And I have a list of parts I’m thinking of going with but I thought perhaps I might post them here and give a link to the website I get my parts from and let you guys have a look and see if theirs anything better to get.

Parts :-
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ with Zalman 7700 (from www.caaseking.de)
Corsair XMS 1 GB Ram
Abit AN8
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum
LG DVD RW (Black)
Seagate S-ATA HDD (120 GB)
Lian-li V2000(Again from www.caseking.de)
Enermax 500W PSU (Already have this part)
Club 3D 6600GT (128mb) PCI-E
Windows XP Pro Sp2

All the parts unless stated otherwise are from www.komplett.ie

I think that’s all I need.
I appreciate any other thoughts or idea’s, and of course if anyone has some personal experience with the Lian-li V2000 I’d love to hear them.

Also forgot to mention the overall price i'm aiming for is between 1500-1700

if I remember the an8 is a single pci express graphics slot -
you may want to consider a dual slot.
if you do go dual slot remember one 6800 is better than 2 6600's...
sounds like a stout system
IF they have these over in Europe - look hard at the ati X800XL series too (like a cheap version of the 6800GT)
you could go to a Audigy 2 gamer to save a little $$$ without performance sacrifice.

I'd really consider a faster video card if you're going towards $1500-1700.

Thanks for the replies folks, just a note about the graphics system, if you look on the website you'll see that the 6800's start at about 3-400€ and to me thats too much for one componant that will be crashing down in price in 6 months time. so rather then get it i'd prefer to spend a smaller amount and get some nice games instead :)

yeah good point on the prices of video cards, always get the most bang for the buck you can get - the 6600 series is the nvidia version of bset bang for buck - as it will out run the last generation nvidia & ati cards (even that monster 5900 series) while the x800xl seems to be for the ati camp - here in the US the x800xl can be like $100-200 or more less than the 6800 series it is in 10% or less performance of.
