i have my computer all set up, and want to start tryign to retrieve the data off of an older IDE 200gb hard drive that i accidentally quick formatted during windows setup. i plug it in and my computer hanfs on the "verifying DMI pool" and will not go anywhere.... why?

try clearing the 'ESCD' option in the BIOS, or possibly try putting the old drive on the IDE2 port with nothing else connected, possibly its a jumper problem on the old drive.
