So, first off let me describe what is occurring, I think it may be related to a GPU issue or a HDD issue.
Saturday morning, I update my Bios (it has been a year previous since i've done this)
Saturday night, I overclock my GTX 460 to 840 mhz / 1680 / 1970 ... it runs fine, it bench marks, no problems. I'm very happy about this, to compare scores, I decide to revert it. Upon hitting "default settings" on MSI afterburner. The computer freezes, not a hard freeze, but a freeze of the music first and then a blue screen. I restart the machine and the settings are reverted from the previous OC, so now they are default once again.
Sunday morning, I get up and surf the net, check bank account, the settings for the GPU are not OC'd past factory settings. It crashes on me while browsing, this time it appears to be a hard freeze, the mouse completely stops moving, almost as if it was attempting to access my hard disks
Sunday night - monday at lunch - I run the computer all night with a movie playing and all of my temp clocks up to see if its over heating or if it will crash, After I get home from lunch at work (The computer has been on for 12hrs+ straight) there was no crash and the video card did not reach above 47ish while overclocked. The max the video has reached while gaming is 75c with fans at 70%.
Monday night - the game completely freezes I am currently playing.
Additional specs - 75g Raptor drive 10k rpm, 120g maxtor drive (5400 rpm) 180g 7200 rpm, I dont have the stats on the 180g. 650w antec PSU (2 months old) Phenom II x4 940 AM2+ Cpu.
I'm unsure if a hard drive is failing or it turns out to be another issue else where. Could I have ruined something by overclocking my GPU or updating my bios (there were no issues on either other than EVGA blue screening whenever I tried to update with Precision)
