Microsoft is giving out beta copies of Visual Studio Team Suite 2005 English CD/DVD Beta 2 for free (found on Techbargains).

Enjoy.

Well that was recockulous I tried to sign up like 15 times but then it kept saying invalid address changing it didn't even help. Why don't you just host it

i keep getting "invalid address"

school address does not work, but home address does.... wierd

Cool, mine should be on the way. They took my address even though it is obviously an apartment complex.

Sweet. I use VS.NET 2003 Enterprise Architect so this should be a nice preview of what's to come!

I get

The following error(s) has occurred:
We are unable to process your order at this time. Please try back later.

If I understand it correctly, Team Suite is Visual Studio 2005 along with the new source control system. I'd love to try the new language components in the next version of the .net framework, so I think it'd be useful for that. As for the source control system - it might not be entirely useful to those who are small team developers (like me) because it's supposed to be absolutely huge. I'll stick to subversion to the time being.

Guys I recieved mine today, Microsoft had it back ordered but they did send it.

I got three cd's: Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite, Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server and slq server 2005 Developer Edition.

The sql server is limited to 365 day limit on use, the other two is beta 2 version, unsure if they are 365 day limit on them either.

It takes time, but these cd's do arrive.

Mine was backordered too, it's supposed to ship within the next week.

Scorpionjwp, have you fully installed it yet? How large is it?

Got mine today... goona check it out later... hopefully its something I can use

Crazy, got mine today as well

edit: Well, installed it. I like the new layout of visual studio's GUI.

VS looks to be a lot more resource intensive though. Just starting it up and not doing anything, Visual Studio 2005 Beta2 already took up about 96 megs.

For comparison, I opened up Visual Studio .NET 2003's editor, and just sitting there, it only used about 20 megs of RAM. VS 2005 doesn't look to be suitable to a system that has the bare minimum of RAM to even just run Windows XP.

Hey BillLeeLee, I haven't had a chance to install it, but I got 3 cd's several days ago.

I got the Sql Server 2005, Visual Studio Suite 2005 and some kind of programming server. Have to find time to install it.
