If its a Futaba, then its most likely a LCD from a Radio Controled helicopter or airplane controller. They're actually pretty detailed, check out futabas webiste and look at some of the LCD's on thier radio systems for RC cars or planes.

Just because it's a Futaba display, and Futaba makes RC stuff, doesn't mean it's from an RTC car.

This is a large dot matrix VFD, that would never be found on any kind of RC car.
