I have been following the thread offering free 8xxx cards to the winner of a contest...however, I decided that the only requirements I have are:

The person I ship this to has a 24x7 folding rig.

The person I ship this to has room in his/her box for a single slot card dedicated to folding.

The person replying to this message has been a member of [H]ard for more than 6 months.

If you meet these requirements, reply, I will flip a coin between the first two posters to this thread, and I will ship it to you (shipping on me), as long as you fold for team 33!

FYI, CUDA is only supported by Geforce 8 series cards and up. Just throwing that out there.
 
Yeah the 8400 GS I believe was the lowest CUDA card. I may be wrong, but that is what I have in mine and when I last visited their website for CUDA cards, it was the lowest numbered one in the 8XXX series. (unless you count the integrated chips which go as low as the 8100 mGPU)

But I would be more then happy to put it into one of my BOINC boxes that are using onboard graphics right now. That should open up a few wasted cycles...lol.

It won't fold, but someone may need a GPU to finish off a SMP box.
 
Christ, the difference a finger movement can make :)...anyway, the card in question is a BFG Tech 8600 GTS...

let this be a lesson, do not let your friends drink and post.

The rules stand, the next two posters get precedence.

yes, please...

not a noob, but i have a s939 folding 24/7-CPU client with an empty PCIe, as i am using the onboard video....

I could always find a home for it....I have a few boxes at work with no GPU clients running due to the fact that they have no GPU..:p


 
I know I could find a home for it for sure, I got two boxes im workin on and one does need a video card for SMP.
