Hey guys, one of the attorneys i work for gave me a disk today of an interview but we need the audio fixed to where you can actually hear it. Its garbled and has lots of background noise that Id like to remove. I know its a shot in the dark to ask for a free program to do this but that's what we need. It may be too bad to fix but I want to try anyway. Any ideas on something that might work that might work in a jiffy?

If you're doing this in conjunction with legal work, make EXTENSIVE notes as to what modifications you make to the original audio.

To be honest, you can find decent audio editors on CNET(aka download.com) that'll do what you need.

Audacity has the ability to sample audio (the hissing/static) and remove that. Should work for you.
