As projects slowly reach their 2M point quota we are settling nicely at the top spot of League 2.

I'm working on my 1 million point goals for ODLK, ODLK1, Rakesearch, and Accoustics. Obviously a few others in the mix as well, but those 4 are going to get a large bulk of my resources for a bit.

Dashboard should be back in a day or two. Didn’t survived the new year from data model point of view. Anyway need some more days for useful linear regression.

Oh, and i’m working on a ‘rear mirror’ across BOINC projects ...

I think we are gonna dominate this league fairly easily.

Just noticed that IBM is in League 2; so everyone can just forget about getting 1st place in WCG this year. :p

Yeah I seen that as well. Challenge accepted.

I might be misinterpreting the numbers for the other teams; but if I'm not, it looks like we'll have a real fight on our hands to get 5th place.

In other news, I'm doing what I can to help get BURP to that 2M point threshold.

EVGA is starting to organize. They have taken an easy 6th place.

I'm on the Formula BOINC web page and I'm not even seeing EVGA. And IBM looks like they're only really contributing on WCG stats. Where are you guys getting your info from?

Ahh, I see it now. I was just expecting EVGA as their team name. How many clients use just video cards? Maybe they won't be heavy competition in the other races that don't.

Crunching@EVGA has pulled themselves up to 3rd place now.

Who cares about them. Their leaders will do something stupid and they'll lose more members soon. Besides, 1st doesn't matter without the other numbers.

They seem to be our only competitors right now. Not much of a challenge without someone to step up and give a fight. Realistically, Sebastien should just make FB opt-in only so that only teams interested are in the rankings. Then get rid of League 2 and 3 as they seem to have little interested right now. There just doesn't seem to be more than 10 teams caring to compete.

Don't worry guys and gals, it will be more fun when the sprints start.
It is early yet. The sprints are what's fun, who cares about the whole year 1st,.2nd or 3rd....
But yeah would of been nice if TaaT could of stayed behind to make it a little more interesting.
Like I said, it is early yet, maybe the other teams will get more involved as the year goes on.

... not to mention the BOINC pentathlon is a two weeks grueling event that pits those teams that are seriously interested in participating unlike FB sprints/marathon with many "sleepy" teams. I wonder if GC will participate in Pentathlon this year . No question of GC dominance in FB as long as the projects that they are running are in their "whitelist".

And all the primegrid challenges, just did a 3 week challenge we threw everything at.
All of next month is the Tour De Primes, many of use will just be doing that all month.

ODLK1 is now on Gridcoin's whitelist, so they will probably pick up production there...

First sprint event is Seti@home.

Can run either CPU or GPU. If you have CPU with high core count, the PPD difference between GPU and CPU is small.

You are limited to max of 100 tasks per GPU/CPU. If you have a rig with one CPU and one GPU, you can load up to 200 tasks per rig.

Each task requires a wingman, so to increase your chance of getting the task validated, you want to download the task early.

If you plan to bunker, remember to disable the network or block the seti IP in /etc/hosts in c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts. I don't have the IP address.

If you plan to run multiple BOINC client instances to overcome the 100 task limitation, you can but that's more work since it is only a one day of bunkering.

Or you can just run normal without bunkering and hopefully got more tasks validated by the wingman in the next 24 hrs.

Wow! My setup from last years summer events still working; searching for Aliens and our position in FB with “special sauce”

I sent a message to all of our SETI team members via the SETI system. That was like 345 potential individuals. I will try and hold off on using actual email addresses for the bigger events like the Pentathlon.

Thanks. If we can get a few people on board, that will certainly helps.(y)

First result dripping in ... we need to speed up ! Come-on guys, stop playing games or working, start crunching ...

Another way you can download additional work past the 100 limit is to install cards from your other rigs in the available slots long enough for BOINC to pull work for each of them. You can then pull those cards out and move to the next box. Do this on each rig that has GPU's. Once you get the cache's to whatever level you can, move the cards back to their proper places. It isn't ideal, but is another option.

So in my case, I have unused slots I can install a bunch of old 8400 GS cards into. Then after the cards are detected by BOINC, SETI will send those work. Fill up the 100 per card quota. Since I have no intent on powering those cards, I can then pull the cards. The primary nVidia GPU will have that much more work to crunch on. If I didn't mind leaving the cards in the box but wanted them to sit idel, I could just edit the config files to exclude those GPU's for future manipulation.

LOL @ Skillz :D

BTW, how on earth can we be competing against teams who don't have any kind of active forum presence? XtremeSystems, SETI@Netherlands and US NAVY BOINC teams have essentially nothing going on; or no forum at all (that I can find) for the USN team. How can we go start up a little good natured smack talk, eh?!

The USN forum says "This board has no forums." Had to access it in a browswer w/o my proxy as it would never load with it enabled.

Did poke around the other two teams forums; but it's like a freaking ghost town in there. I mean, seriously, next to nothing about BOINC... full stop. Jeez.

So, if anyone from the teams in League 2 that we're competing with in this Sprint (and FB in genera) are looking at this... we're coming for you. :D
