i am with you on this one, i hate that about nvidia, and i havent made my choice, and although atis brilinear doesnt worry me, this does, i hate having to fish for beta drivers and then having to bench and see what works.

i currently own ati, and i really didnt like 4.1 or was it 3.10 i dont remeber, but the rest have been smooth. dont leak drivers, have beta testers and the do official releases, that way when something goes wrong if it does you can submit the errors to nvidia, but with leaked drivers :(

You have to bench and see what works on WHQL drivers as well. Just because they get put up on the site for download and they are approved by Microsoft, it doesn't make them any better then the beta drivers floating around. And the best part about beta drivers leaking is you can find ones the perform really well in the games or benchmarks YOU run, where as with official releases you have to wait around for forever sometimes before you get an update to fix your problem. There have been 6X.XX drivers leaking out left and right from nVidia. Just check the forums to see what other people are using. There is a ForceWare section on nV News dedicated to just drivers. Its really not hard.

yes but i only have to test one per release. thats it. the good news with official driver realeases is that you can submit a bug etc.
truly this is something personal, nobody is right or wrong in this, can we agree on that?

Someone's complaining about nvidia's drivers? They are all good! I install various ones and they are all stable, no problems ever...so don't worry about it. consider it a plus, and basically, 'newer is better'.

Yes probably my friend :p
However if it hoses my box you will come over to fix it :p LOL
Ill try it later on tonight and see how it goes...of course ill back up all my shit..just in case

SP2 is safe, of course I can't guarantee for your particular system, but I have installed it on 3 different systems which have all run perfectly since.

Also, it gives you the option to create a backup during installation. If you don't like SP2, you can revert back.
