Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition

Comes on two dvd 9...

It took me over 30 minutes to install as well. (the patch takes forever as well)

But the game is fun.

1 hour to install the game???????

totally ridiculous...does the game come on floppy disks??

2 dvd's like stated before.. dvd 1 is just the audio.. dvd 2 is everything else.. its in my long ass post on the first page..

I keep running into this area where it crashes the game. its pretty close in the beginning, in the first assassination mission when you have to pull this pillar sideways to jump on to pull a little platform down to jump up onto. As soon as I pull the platform down or try to jump to it instant freeze.

Make sure you applied patch 1.1 (it's 400MB)
Finished the first two missions without any crashes.

Just wanted to warn you guys not to bump up the difficulty. 3/4 is way to hard for a first timer.

Well there goes my hopes for the NEXT Jedi Knight

It's a good game, but I would never compare it to the Jedi Knight series, it falls way short of that benchmark...and they still didn't give it multi-player, nor sort out the different character skins that all hold the saber the same style as the apprentice, good thing they didn't charge full whack for this game, or it definitely wouldn't have made it to my pile of games.

You just ruined the entire game for me with this blatant spoiler! :D

Sorry... ;)

is this a DX 10 game? Is there any way to force it to run higher refresh rates on a CRT?

DX 9.0c. About the refresh rates, not yet. the patch the released made performance better and fixed some buggies. However its still hard locked at 30fps. Honestly its not too noticeable. It's still pretty smooth.

Anyone found a way to uncap the 30FPS frame cap? Its bearable but not smooth like it should be.

I am astonished that they thought a 28 GB game was acceptable. I know that hard drives are large now days, but if every game was 28GB, people would have to constantly be uninstalling and reinstalling games. It's a bit obtuse for 1 developer to think their game is worth this much real estate. Especially when the game is as visually unimpressive, and has as little replay value as TFU.

Halfway considering it.

Is this game worth it even at that price if I've never played it before?

^^ This freezes me in my tracks pretty fast. Sounds like the answer to my own question is a resounding "Hell no!"

No there's not. The physics engine Lucas Arts Decided to use polls at 30 times a second, and there's not a fix to remedy this. Even on all the Console versions theres a 30fps hard cap.

that's why they make 1TB drives nowadays... :p
HAHA. Space is not an issue. I have a 1tb black edition for games and apps alone.

Nobody is forcing you to download anything.
True...

I guess if I want to dl it from steam (which I prefer over a physical copy), I might need to call my ISP to make sure there is no limit I'll hit...

I don't see why people are complaining. A true HD RIP of a 1080P blue-ray can take up 40-50GB for just two hours of content.

Thats because the consoles can barely maintain 30 FPS in this game. PC should disable this, a 30 FPS cap on a PC game is an indication of a bad port.

Granted, but that's completely uncompressed, raw. This is software. They are supposed to have skills coding, and writing their game within a reasonable limit. It does not take up this much space in ANY respect on the console....
It's just a lazy port. I will probably pick it up eventually, but man... 28 gb. It'll take forever.

why would you rip a bluray? you can play it directly from the BD.

Not to get too off topic, but I ripped my entire DVD collection to my computer so I do not have to mess with sifting through cases and disks. I can just browse through WMC.

Ports like this are a slap to the face to us PC gamers. I'll pass.

I'm passing as well.

But if Steam were to put this on sale for, say, 75% off, then I'd buy it.

I'd probably even buy this for 50% off. And based on the pattern I've seen this year, for digital sales, this will likely happen sometime in the next couple of months. This game, by the way, is also selling at D2D right now.

... I don't know... I hate to admit this publicly... but I HAVE had the fantasy of wielding a light saber... I mean, it's an iconic fantasy... I also have one where I'm stuck in traffic and suddenly I press a button and my car gets wings and I take off into the sky... all the people get out of the cars and point up and say 'oh my god, did you see that!'

Hey, this game actually works. Unlike most of the bad ports that either don't work period or have some major bugs. TFU seems to be on the upper end of bad ports. Maybe just a meh port even, not bad, but not good.

At least Alt+Tab works.
I don't mind the size... most games will be just as big in a few years.
As long as it takes less to install than play though we're still doing good

28 gigs puts it over the top in the "very bad port" category for me.
