Folding on a GTX275 question.

I just picked up a BFG GTX275 OCXE. This card is much better than my 4850X2. The settings are:

Clock Clock = 710
Memory Clock = 1242
Shader Clock = 1566

I'm getting between 1900-2800 iter / sec. Is this low? Reason I ask is I saw a couple Youtube videos where the GTX260's were getting 3600-3800. Thanks for your input.
 
Don't use the viewer, since it'll significantly slow down F@H while it's open, and it's useless for measuring speed. Download a monitoring program like FahMon, HFM.NET, or FahSpy and use that to monitor the PPD you're getting. That is the only way to get an accurate idea of how well the client is performing with your video card.
 
As Zero said, the viewer is garbage.

I use FAHMon, but any of those are good choices.

 
Thanks for the advice. I installed Fahmon. It doesn't appear to work. I point to the F@H directory but it does not monitor. Most of the columns say "unknown".
 
You need to point FahMon toward this directory: C:\Users\*Your Username*\AppData\Roaming\Folding@home-gpu

It's kinda funny that this thread popped up. At QuakeCon, nVidia had ALL of their machines running the viewer!!! So much for actual production :D

 
Fahmon first stated 8946 ppd. It's now climbed to 9444 ppd. Am I operating properly?

Yes. Speeds depend on work units. You might go down to the high six thousand range with those 511 point work units, but that is definitely a good speed for the smaller ones like the 353 pointers.

Folding@home GPU2 client is only concerned about shader speeds, which can be modified independently of core clock.
