Ok, y'all convinced me.

I'm folding again on my E8400 (3.7ghtz), and this time for the [H]orde. Should see my first WU complete sometime late tomorrow morning ~ 19 hours from now).

I've got Leopard running on my Q6600 (3.0 ghtz) so I'll tackle getting F@H running on it this weekend (any advice out there for getting this working?).

I'll also see about borging the girlfriend's E6600, and my DVR (E2180 @ 2.5ghtz).

Which client are you running, BTW?

I don't know anything about Macs, but Stanford has several clients available on their DL page from the looks of it. The best client to run on a quad is the SMP client.

Apollo - I'm using 5.91 SMP doze client on the E8400. I'll use the same client on the E2180 when I borg it (Kendrak - I'll update with completion times when I have them).

I'm thinking of using the Linux SMP client with VMWare fusion (2-core/VM goodness) on the Leopard boxen... Will follow up with success/failure notes.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. It's good to be in an active group this time around :)

As harsh as it sounds, the failboat is a valuable teaching tool. I learn considerably more breaking things a few times. :D
 
As long as the failboat doesn't involve large numbers of police, firefighters, or paramedics...

Yes, the meetings are on Tuesdays. Kendrak seems to think they are some big giant important thing, but the truth is, the only reason anyone shows up is because of the keg and warm tamales......... nothin' personal K.... it's just the truth;)

Oh, and please don't confuse the Tuesday meetings with the Friday meetings, they are usually held at a local bar....happy hour is usually right about the time people start to show up. You know, cheap ass snacks and two for one drinks.........really, it's all we can afford. Just ask for the [H]ard|Mowed Over Club and the wait staff will point you in the right direction. We were going to start a "Quit Smoking for a Quad" club, but alan got all selfish and went off and just quit all by himself.......

Then there's the failboat. Unfortunately for me, I am the resident dude in charge of the failboat. My clients EUE, my PSU's literally burst into flames and I fold on a massive farm of small form factor 2.8 Cele's..... really, I do. I even bought two X1950pro GPU's specifically for folding...... but I'm not going to go into that right now......

Anyhow, I'm really glad you guys are here and I hope you enjoy getting to know us..... pretty fun group of folks we have around here!!!

And of course, if you have questions or problems, just ask.... we're here to help!!!

Well, I don't know about what the failboat entails, but there is always the chance of having to deal with the cops with successful folding. You'll have to ask a McHugh for that story or do a bit of digging and/or searching for the story. It's in the DC forum somewhere and rather amusing. Well worth the time to search it out.

Well, it hasn't shown up on EOC or HF stats yet, but the stanford page confirms I've put in my first WU for the [H]orde.
Started: 2243 (2008-05-28)
Finished: 2004 (2008-05-29)

So about 22 hours... Need to figure out what is adding ~ 3 hours to my time since I last ran this in March.
