yeh you need a card + software, the link above is an option for software, sorry i dont know any hardware, look on newegg

Heh, if you really want to be cheap like I did one time, you can go ghetto tuner:

1. Gen an old walkman
2. Rip it apart, salvaging the main board inside, ditching the tape player, cd player, etc.
3. Get a cd-rom audio cable
4. Get a regular 1/8" stereo cable
5. Put them alone in a closet to "do their thing"
6. Realize cables can't mate, pull out and splice together, it's easy, 3 wires to 3 wires
7. Hook up some wires from the AUX connector (3.3v) to the batteries compartment
8. Connect the stereo jack to the walkman, the other end to the AUX on your sound card.
9. Turn on your computer, go into sound controll and un-mute aux
10. ...
11. Profit

And yes, it *does* work

there should be a step about hooking it up to the PSU, but I do that with everything

That's pretty cool, but the easy thing to do is get the leadtek tv2000 card. TV/FM tuner, not much money, no effort. The walkman thing is certainly [H]er though.

Well, when I did this mod, it was couple years back, when I was running a HP Pavilion with a 100mhz Pentium on an AT PSU, so it was a bit different. The walkman I had wanted 4.5 from a wallwort, so I hooked up one of those car lighter adapters that has voltage selection on it, and gave it 4.5v. Yeah, it was pretty ghetto, I should go find pics on the connector splice:D

Most tv tuner cards have fm tuners. The leadtek card does, as does the hauppauge wintv-dbx. FM tuners are hardware so you can't very well download them. Or are you looking for the software to use with an fm tuner card you have?

Why do you want FM for you computer, Internet radio is better IMHO. Plus since I found a way to play Sirius streams, it has gotten 100X better.

Play Sirius streams? Now you have my attention. Care to elaborate?
