Flea Bomb question

This saturday, I'm gonna bomb my house with Fogger's to get rid of these fleas. My question is, do I need to cover up my PC or LCD monitor?

Will someone please tell me if I need to cover my PC up? I really dont want to damage anything.

I can tell you it's NOT good for it. Other then that it is neutral but since it's chemicals and your not even susposed to use amonia on an lcd monitor i'd cover it ;)

Well, I just did that last week, and I didn't cover anything. I just made sure to turn off and unplug my box...I can't say much about LCD screens, I have a CRT!

OT: I clean my monitor with Alchohol wipes, is that bad?

something about amonia eating away at the coating of lcd's especially anti glare kinds.

not sure i just use a lightly damp cloth?

Alcohol should be fine. Nothing cleans better than it that's nearly as safe, and it's generally very safe to non-living things (uhm, I wouldn't inhale a ton of it or anything.) Almost unconductive even (very very high resistance.)

On the fleabomb, it's definitely not good for the system. Don't know if it's bad, but, I'm willing to be that those chemicals get in there and kind of coat things, which is asking for trouble to say the least. If nothing else, it could add an extra layer of insulation, which means components get more heat than they expected.

I strongly recommend you at least get your case and monitor covered airtight. It would probably just be easiest to take them out of the place wouldn't it though?

Flea bombs only kill fleas that are alive. Take my word for it, those bastards go deep into your carpet, and into crevices where those bombs don't go.

Go to a professional exterminator's shop that sells DIY chemicals, and ask them what to use. I went through about 4 gallons of this spray solution ( every 2 weeks a gallon) to finally rid myself of the little buggers. (I had two housecats that got out and the epidemic spread like wildfire).

Not to mention, with the targeted spray, you'll be able to spray under and around lots of things, including your PC. Stay outta the house after spraying for about 45min - 1 hour, and then go about your business.

I know it sounds extreme, but a single treatment will not do the job. You'll be bombing again and going through this process all over again when hundreds of the little shits hatch and start the process over. The product I used killed the larvae and stopped eggs from hatching. Within 2 applications, they were almost all gone, I did the last 2 to put the nail in their coffin.

Good luck, I hate them damn things :)

After taking the dog's to the vet yesterday for vaccinations, he convinced us to not use the flea bomb. He suggest's vaccuming the whole area, then applying some spray, like the kind you mentioned.

He also applied some Advantix to the dogs, and when we got home, my dog's were acting crazy, almost like the flea's were flying around on them. Then today I find a whole bunch of dead flea's!

Hold on I'm taking notes... right... continue...

If you are still considering bombing the place, it is not that much hassle to just take the machine out of the area. If you do that, you don't even have to worry about whether or not you need to cover it!

Why not cover your monitor and pc with something as simple as a sheet just to be safe?

HAHAH that's funny. I guess you just can't kill the dead ones :p

Zombie fleas, hah!

Flea bombs = useless. As previously stated, they only kill mature fleas. Eggs and larvae aren't affected

Sprays = May kill eggs and/or larvae but you have to spray every other day.

Fleas have an 8 day life cycle I believe and unless you get something that kills all of them and apply treatments for 2 weeks minimum, you won't get rid of them. Adantix or Frontline for your cat/dog. Vacuum the carpets, wash any linens in HOT water (eggs can survive cold and warm and the soap does nothing to them) and spray. The sprays I usually use are designed to be sprayed in the parimeter of the room.

Don't forget couches, chairs, mattresses, pillows, etc. ANYTHING with a soft cloth surface can house fleas and needs to be washed/vacuumed/sprayed.
