I'm waiting for the cheap 9800GTX's to get in stock, here in the UK.
When they do, I'll get 4.
But I'll be dropping one of my servers to save power, so the upgrade will only add around 12K PpD.

In for 1 card - I'll probably order a second for my shop. ;)

 
I'm waiting for a 9800gtx to arrive and 2 q9450s. The only parts that arrived today were the cases, rest should arrive on monday.


 
grr, i have enough in my paypal to buy 3 of those cards... and i have an intel mobo here with 3x PCIe x16 slots... but i promised myself no more spending money :mad:

You didn't promise yourself, and your not spending money, this is money that was generated by the sale of other hardware, and thus is a transfer of value and not a purchse.
 
I'd buy one if they shipped to Canada, still waiting for another 8800GT sale up here.

Edit: Looking around there's some decent deals I guess, maybe I should price out a system. Nothing in the $77 range though :(
 
Rawr. I made another thread about this because I didn't bother to look in this one (title has nothing to do w/ the card).

Oh well, 2 threads can only help solve the problem. No harm done :D
 
Make a recommendation for a sub 100 dollar AGP video card that can fold and I'll buy it ASAP.
 
ATI has 2xxx and 3xxx AGP cards but the PPD I've seen reported for ATI is lower than the NVidia GPUs at the moment. The 3850 is the fastest ATI AGP I've seen.

I don't think an 8xxx series Nvidia card is available, at least I can't find any references to one.

man i'm really tempted to buy two of these and grab a cheap sli board.


 
While this warming will not get much attention .. i will post it anyways ..

We have no idea which client on GPU will get the most points ..

We also do not know if a point rebalance is goign to happen sooner or later ...

While the nVidia client is running great now .... who knows what will happen when larger WU come out ..... running now is really small WU's ...

I am not going to have a lot of pitty if you go buy a ton of Cheap nVidia GPU and then those get 500 PPD after new WU's come out ....

I am running ATI ... but both fold ......

This team always has a way of pulling ahead ... and we will again ...

Just don't put all your hope in one solution, cause it will somehow fail ...

We will have a better idea once more WU come out and ATI & nVidia get the cores cleaned ...

IF we give them just a little time .. we will be better off .. and can buy the right hardware when we know what will work over time .. not just in the here and now

That deserves a lot of attention and much consideration.
This is folding, everything will change.
No hardware is sacred or forever useful.

Purchase at your own risk.

But at $77 it's hard to worry too much. ;)

We've seen the changes many times over.
