Do y'all reuse fittings between builds/How long do you guys ues fittings for? Probably putting a new rig together and and was wondering if it's safe to use my 5 year old fittings again? Was going to get new tubes and reuse the rads and res/pump but not sure on if oring fittings have a life span or not?

I've never water cooled before, but I'd assume if they were working with your old rig, assuming they didn't get damaged in between, they probably would still work??

You can reuse fittings as long as you replace the O-Rings. Sometimes the O-rings can last for a few years, but since they are so cheap, just replace them anyway.

I would avoid rotary fittings at all costs, especially used ones.

I have fittings from 2005 that still work but they've had the o-rings replaced a few times.

Yep, slap in new o-rings and go. I also personally eschew quick-release/compression/speciality fittings… they may look nice, but they cost more and from what I’ve seen, are less reliable then simple tried and true barb fittings using quality tubing and hose clamps. I’ve never had a leak in 20+ years of building WC loops.

I have one going form CPU to gpu. That's the one that I worry about and will probably do away with

I have 6 or 7 Monsoon and Bitspower fittings and at least 6 QDCs in my system. No issues on those for the last decade as well, though I only swap components every 3-5 years.

Edit: Realized I didn't clarify that the Monsoon and Bitspower fittings I referenced are rotary.

I'm still using some Swiftech LokSeal fittings, including rotaries, that I bought for a build in May, 2012! Still have the same three Alphacool radiators from then as well. If the O-rings look worn out or dried out, then you can replace them. Only fittings I've ever had problems with are adjustable SLI bridges, which aren't really a thing any more, and one type of plastic 80mm long Alphacool extender.
