Hey guys, this is my first time OCing, im OCing a Intel E2140, nothing special but some reviews got it up to 3.0. Im going to OC it with GIGABYTE GA-P35-S3G and mushkin 2GB (2 x 1GB). So im just wondering what i need to do, what programs i need.

nvm, i didnt look at the stickies, i see there is a guide, but i cant figure out the equation (CPUM * FSB). I used the specs from the official intel site here.

This probably sounds pretty dumb but i cant figure out where he got the multiplyer and the FSB...
 
If you read the sticky and all the online guides that are out there, then you would realize for overclocking you won't need any programs, you will set it from CMOS.

Speed is calculated by multiplying the multiplier CPUM times the Front Side Bus speed (9x356 for 3.2 Mhz on my quadcore). If you read the guides (read a LOT of them before trying anything) you would know this.

As for testing, coretemp or speedfan are needed to monitor the core temps and Prime95 is the standard for testing the system (8+hours). CPU-ID is useful to observe your settings from within Windows.

Overclocking takes a lot of time and testing. If you aren't willing to do this, then you will fail.
