Hello, I was wondering if overclocking my cpu some would help my gameplay in cs source? I had a C2D a while back with the same exact setup and got about 25 more fps. I heard if I OC this chip that it SHOULD give me very close performance that I got with the C2D 6420 in gaming.

How can I OC this and what speed should get it to perform better in gaming without making it unstable.

Thanks for help in advance!

anyone wanna help me out?

I have the MO stepping on mine.. heard thats good.

Well your motherboard is ECS which typically doesn't have any overclock settings so you might just be sol. I'm not familiar with that exact model, what settings do you have in bios?

If the board can't overclock, you could do a pin/pad mod to oc it, if you don't mind modding your cpu a bit.

I bought a asus p5be mobo... I think it should be able to OC a bit better.

Ya the p5b should oc well. Kust read some threads there are some really good guides out there so I'm not going to try to tell you how to oc it - just read a guide.
