1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming, Web Browsing, Word Processing
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$300 tops, tax and shipping included would be nice, but I am aware that most likely isn't gonna happen.
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
San Diego, CA
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, GPU, MB, RAM, Case, Power Supply, Hard Drive
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
None.
6) Will you be overclocking?
No
7) 7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
I will be using a 32in Sony Bravia until I can purchase a monitor next year.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
I plan on building slowly through the next two months or so.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
Not sure. I don't have very much computer knowledge, but I know that for now I will definitely not need SLI support. I have no idea what SATA is. If I can get a MB with competent onboard gaming GPU, that would be nice so I wouldn't have to buy a GPU separate, but again, I know that's unlikely.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
No.
Notes:
-I would prefer Intel/Nvidia over AMD/ATI, as I intend to upgrade to Intel i5 next year
-I intend to build a much nicer gaming rig come Feb/Mar when I have the money. I am currently building this budget PC because I dropped my laptop and shattered the screen. The old man was about 4 years old and needs to be replaced anyhow.
-I dont need BF3 gaming capabilities. I would just like to play Oblivion/Skyrim decently, and perhaps a little TF2, WoW and From Dust as well. My laptop used to be able to play WoW (although raiding was a challenge), but with Cataclysm, it had awful framerate. The graphics card was also abandoned by AMD and the drivers have stopped being updated (as of about 2.5 years ago). I am currently using it through my TV.
-I have never build a computer before, but I've been researching for months, so I know the basics of matching components and what is definitely needed in a rig.
Any help/suggestions are appreciated
