HSF: XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler and Retention Bracket

I'll be running Vista Home 64 which I have already and running a 24" monitor at 1900 x 1200. Trying to keep this around $1000 and my newegg prices show these
at $1040 before any of the rebates. Not sure on the Mobo and to go for the GTX 260 or keep the 4870. Any help is appreciated!

Parts choices looks good to me.

As for which video card to go with, it's a tossup actually between the HD4870 1GB and the GTX 260 with 216SP. Performance is the same between the two cards in most games. The other factors you now have to look at is price, warranty and quality of customer support.

The motherboard is fine. However, since it supports CrossFire, which only works with AMD/ATI video cards, you may want to consider leaning towards the HD4870.

Having said that, I suggest looking for another brand. Sapphire has been hit-or-miss lately with the quality of its parts.

Everything looks good. At 24" and 1900 x 1200, the 1GB 4870 is great. Keep it.

Looks like a decent list HBW, we could split hairs on cpu and psu but overall you're doing fine. Here's the thing you could get a GTX260 especially if you're waiting on the 216's. The 4870 vs 260 difference is minimal.

Keep mentioning it, but it's hard for me to support the video card @ $270AR when the 512 version is only 199.99AR = 35% premium.
