As noted, first fully new build in 7 years. I'd like to go in more of a SFF direction, so either Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX for case and motherboard.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

Primarily Web browsing and word processing. Some gaming as well; DA3 when it comes out would be the most challenging game graphically. No FPSs.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?

$1600-2000, tax and shipping included.

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.

NYC. Microcenter is a short drive; there are no Frys in the area.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.

Case, PSU, Motherboard, CPU, Memory, SSD, GPU, Monitor. Would prefer an SSD that's at least 512GB (1TB seems like it may be too expensive at the moment)

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.

Reusing speakers, keyboard, and mouse (for now; it's a Logitech MX Revolution that will have to be replaced at some point because it's losing its ability to charge, but ok for now). Old copy of Windows 7 with a never used license.

6) Will you be overclocking?

No

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?

That should be part of the recommendations. Would prefer a 27" 2560x1440 monitor, though I'd prefer something that can be gotten through a reputable seller, so probably leave out QNIX. My impression is that 4k really isn't there yet and may not be for some time; if I'm wrong, by all means let me know.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?

Within the next month. If there's something coming out imminently that I should delay a few weeks for, that's ok.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.

Would like to have some sort of onboard video just as a backup. Should have a digital out so I can easily hook it up to a receiver.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS?
Is it 32bit or 64bit?

Yes; as mentioned above, Windows 7 64bit.

How long is the drive to Microcenter?

Considering your budget, I would recommend waiting till the end of the month and ask for advice then as that's when Nvidia's 9xx series video cards should be hititng the market. Those will be faster than current Nvidia cards or at least as fast as current Nvidia cards but at a much lower price.

Cool then.

Well do you want to till the end of the month to buy the parts for the PC?

If there's likely to be a significant bump in price/performance, I'd be willing to do that. Most of the recommendations I see out there seem to be suggesting AMD due to better price/performance- is the expectation that the 9xx series is going to change that?

Yes from the limited info we can gather.
