First FM2+ boards arrive from Asus

Yup, less than a year after FM2 showed up.

FM1 lasted a little over a year.

AMD seems to be making lots of small updates on their APU line, I still find some FM1 based stuff in cheap retail stuff and AMD is already about to make FM2 obsolete.
 
I heard FM2+ processors will still work in FM2 boards minus some features like PCIe 3.0. Hopefully that's correct.

not possible, i believe FM2+ has two extra pins. they won't fit into FM2 socket because those two extra pins have no where to go.

FM2 CPUs will work in FM2+ board.
 
I wonder if AMD will be migrating the 8 core CPUs to this platform too since AM3+ seems to be a dead end now.
 
So is the 6800k fm2+ chip?
Looking to put a htpc/game box together but not sure what mobo to get for it.
How long till kaveri?
