Wow, with newer drivers, nvidia seems to be beating ATi in every single test.

I think a lot of the increase in performance with the newer drivers is down to NV enabling ATi-style optimizations by default. It's just levelling the playing field as far as I'm concerned.Diseaseboy said:Let the "I'm sure Nvidia is cheating again" flame wars begin.............
SocketA said:Nvidia and ATI are both offering excellent products. This benchmark just compounding this point. The pc enthusiast or gamer would never be able to tell the differece between which card was running in the computer, especially with the Ultra and XT PE. A few fps in not noticeable....
ehZn said:Try telling that to the crazy people who flip shit over 10 points in 3dmark...
Cali3350 said:Cool, do these drivers get rid of the shimmering? If not ATI is still in the lead imo.

Elias said:I thought the shimmering issue was taken care of several drivers ago. I never had this described problem in either the 61s or 66s that I've used, but recall other people saying this.
[BB] Rick James said:I'm glad I went with the GT this time around. Normally go balls to the walls and get hte most expensive card because I think it will be "better". But the GT and the Ultra are pretty much on par with each other.
UltimateMan said:I second that opinion.
What is the [BB] for? best buy by any chance?
Chris_B said:Well they used cat 4.9's, might have been a different story if cat 4.10 and the memory fix had been whql'd in time for them to use those in the test.
burningrave101 said:Well there are newer ForceWare drivers out there as well such as the 66.81.
Cali3350 said:Nope, still there. Especially evident in the walls in CS_Office that have shaders applied to them. Looks absolutely horrible.
hfusion said:ATI sucks.
I mean, clearly, NVIDIA owned ATI with a 2% difference.
TWO PERCENT! I hardly think its fair to say ATI was "pwned" because of a 2% difference in speed. Im rather positive that if you are playing a game on a computer that is 2% slower, you wont notice a difference at all.
Maybe on a geforce 2 with 32 megs of ram. But when people now are running these really powerful computers, 2% is jack. ATI was not pwned. ATI was beaten by a margin of 2%.
...and dont say pwned.

psikoticsilver said:I really think the title of the news post should be changed. To me "pwn," means something more then a 2-6 frames per second lead--PWND is like Monster Kill in Unreal Tournament. I didn't expect this from [H]. Actually this is the LAST thing I expect from [H].
rancor said:We are just laughing at Vavle's 30-40% difference between nV and ATi cards![]()
Dosomo said:The thing is, you are never going to get through to those people. It's like trying to explain quantum physics to a 3 yr old. They aren't capable of understanding.
Chris_B said:Have they even said that since the new generation of cards hit? last i heard valve stating that was when the 9800 series was royally ass raping the fx line.

thrawn42 said:So now the question that needs to be asked is: "Is the 6800U/GT the card of choice for hardcore CS people?"
