Firefox 3.5 Released

Anyone know how to edit add-on files? Why mouse gestures aren't a stock feature is beyond me.

No, there is no 64-bit version.

GJSNeptune: download the .xpi file, rename it to *.zip and extract it. Edit the .rdf file in your text editor (change the MaxVersion) and then zip all the files back together. Rename it to .xpi and install it.

Not sure why you'd have to do that, though. Firegestures (by far, in my opinion, the best mouse gestures addon) is fully compatible with 3.5.

Hmm... now my awesome bar isn't working. If I were to type in 'Maps' before (without quotes), it would do a google search of sorts (like hitting I'm feeling Lucky) and bring me directly to Google Maps... now all I get is this:

Click for full size - Uploaded with plasq's Skitch

EDIT: Nevermind, I guess it was a Google toolbar feature. I re-enabled Google Toolbar and I can do the searces in the location bar again.

I wish there was a button to easily switch between private browsing mode. Other than that everything is working great including all of my add ons.

In tabmix plus if you middle click an empty space on the bar where tabs are it would undo the last closed tab. Is there a way to add that back in?

Just updated my firefox and it looks cool. Seems tad faster in mypsace pages with lots of content but still single core :( I bet firefox 4.0 is on the works same goes with MS windows 8

Is there any noticeable advantage of using the x64 version rather than the general release?

I did not use any of the betas, but 3.5 seems good to me, didn't have any add-on conflicts (then again I only use a handful), and is quite speedy. However, I noticed the icons in the Bookmark Toolbar are squished together now (I use the icons only, no text), and seem to run together at times. Even with separators it's very compacted.

I'd like to see the ability to color-code a range of icons between separators added in the future, either in-program or via an add-on (maybe there's an existing one I just haven't seen), like so:

I noticed that when you click and hold over a bookmark folder, there's now a delay before the folder expands. I'm too used to it expanding instantly. Not liking it.

Why do you click and hold? You know if you click, the folder opens and stays open, right? It also opens right away as opposed to having a delay. You don't need to hold in order for the folder to stay open.

I know. I like to click and hold because when I let go over a link, that link opens. Fewer clicks. :D

some tweaking might be in order,
type on the address bar: "about:config"
and search something related to "menu" you might get lucky :)

Why not just click and let go..?

Is 3.5 compatible with noscript and ***** plugins?

My crash earlier was apparently caused by FoxyURL. I don't know how to read the details of crash reports, but I noticed foxyurl was in there somewhere.

I don't know what all this is about the bookmark folder issues. Mine instantaneously open when I hover the mouse on it.........NO click.

Thanks, but I found out last night that is not entirely correct. On Vista there was no issue with ***** or noscript but when I updated to 3.5 on XP FF said that it was not compatible with ***** and would disable it. Kind of odd that **** is compatible on Vista with 3.5 but not XP.

Because Adblock is old and I don't think it's even actively developed anymore. Adblock Plus has replaced it and is fully compatible with FF3.5

I use Adblock plus.

Yes, this. I can't even find Adblock on the Mozilla Add-ons page anymore.

Suprised this conversation has gone on this long.
