Long time lurker, need some help finishing off a build.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming(SC2, Skyrim, etc.), Light Photoshop
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Probably around $500 to finish it off with tax and shipping.
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Boston, MA area, yes near the Microcenter
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Mobo, RAM, Case, SSD, Optical Drive, Cooler, possibly another HD but I don't need the storage space.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Corsair TX850 PSU, EVGA GTX 480 new in box that a friend gave me, and an i5 2500K that I was able to grab from Microcenter for $99.
6) Will you be overclocking?
Yes, light
7) 7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
1680x1050 22" (next upg)
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
In this next week
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
USB 3.0, SATA 6Gb/s, I would like SLI support but I'm not sure if doing something like getting a refurb GTX 480 would be a good idea over a newer card. (Not included in build price)
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
No, I was planning on Win 7 Pro 64bit, but I saw Win 8 for 69.99, is there a downfall to this? (Yes it was the full version)

Thanks for the help.

Here's what I recommend:
$140 - Asus P8Z77-V LK Intel Z77 ATX Motherboard
$34 - G.Skill Value Series F3-10666CL9D-8GBNT 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM
$200 - Samsung 830 Series 256GB SSD
$17 - Samsung SH-224BB/RSBS DVD Burner
$30 - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus HSF for LGA 1366 and LGA 1156
---
Total: $421 plus tax and shipping.

You have roughly $80 leftover for the case. I recommend the following:
$60 - Cooler Master HAF 912 RC-912-KKN1 ATX Case
$75 - Corsair Carbide Series 300R ATX Case
$80 - Corsair Carbide Series 400R ATX Case

Up to you if you're willing to try out Windows 8's new features.
