So I finally got a system back up and running apparently cause it started to push through a WU (its been 3 weeks since one of my systems was even able to do a WU). It may not give me a heck of alot of points, but its a start again!

Yatta!

welcome back bro, even tho you never really left, not in my mind atleast

fold on!!

Every WU is sacred,
Every WU is great.
If a WU is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

Let the heathens spill theirs
on the dusty plains
Let the heathen spill theirs
On the dusty ground.
God shall make them pay for
Each WU that can't be found.

mmmmmm..........

Spam can taste so good when pan fried to a nice golden brown color with a side of eggs and grits. Spam is also perfect if you ever want to make some home fried rice.

I had some pancakes and fried spam at a Civil War reenactment this past weekend. Spam's yummy stuff when it is cooked just short of being burnt.

Oh yeah, FrEaKy it's good to see you back online.

Yeah man, spam is the most flexible food product in the world as you can do anything with it. It tastes so good that you are tempted to forget that you are pumping yourself full of those sodium nitrate free radicals that have been linked to cancer.

I've never eaten spam and I never will eat spam. I would rather starve to death.

OT welcome back Freaky :)

Amdgamer are you implying that we are folding to counter the long term effects of excessive spam consumption?

Wife: I don't want ANY spam!
Man: Why can't she have egg bacon spam and sausage?
Wife: THAT'S got spam in it!
Man: Hasn't got as much spam in it as spam egg sausage and spam, has it?
Vikings: Spam spam spam spam... (Crescendo through next few lines...)
Wife: Could you do the egg bacon spam and sausage without the spam then?
Waitress: Urgghh!
Wife: What do you mean 'Urgghh'? I don't like spam!
:D:D We need to stop spamming this thread. :D:D

Seriously, at least give it a try so you know what you are missing. Spam is especially popular among certain cultures like the Japanese and Hawaiians. Spam is so popular in Hawaii that there is even a native Hawaiian dish based around spam called spam misubi(sp??). I also hear that you can get spam burgers and spam stuff at McDonalds there. In fact, 7/11's sell all sorts of spam foods like spam burgers and spam misubi down there. When you fry it golden brown, it tastes so good. Spam burgers, spam on top of rice, spam fried rice, spam sushi, spam for breakfast, etc.....

Historically speaking, spam played an incredible role in keeping people from starving to death during and after WWII. It was perfect because it required no refrigeration, and was ready to eat straight out of the can. Countless Europeans and especially Brits would have likely starved to death after they were obliterated during the war.

I hope not! As much as I love spam, I try to keep it to a treat once a month or so as i'm actually more worried about the sodium content. However consumption of a lot of processed meats that use sodium nitrite in the preservation/curing process have been linked to cancers as it can strip electrons and do all sorts of stuff I learned in O-Chem a very long time ago.

Obliterated may be too strong a term, yes we took a pasting but we stopped them dead in in the summer of 1940;)

Treet ftw, way less greasy than spam.

I was never able to get into Treat as I always thought it was way too sweet versus the nice salty taste that spam has.

Either way, spam not only kept our European friends from starving, but helped to keep our troops on the front lines fed and full. It is such a shame that we now know how bad it is for you, as I would have rather not known about it. However, it couldn't be much worse than eating other cured meat stuff as they all use sodium nitrite.

I go away for a few days, come back and this thread is all about SPAM! /looks for vikings!

In other news, while I was gone, windows decided to do an update restart on my system and brought it up to the login screen, where I collected NO points for 5 complete WU's that happened and put me back to inactive, yay!

There's a fix for that!

Windows XP:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315231

Windows 7:
Press Windows R. A command box should appear. Type control userpasswords2 and hit the enter key. This should display the User Accounts screen in Windows 7. Select the user account in the main table and uncheck the “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer. A click on the Apply button will open the Automatically Log On window. Enter the password and confirm it to add the password to the system so that it does not need to be entered during logon.

Works like a champ in Windows 7!

we no longer need to use passwords as smp no longer uses mpich.

Well, no theres more good news....

Im getting WU's completed, HOWEVER, not a single WU is being sent to the server, keep getting a "unable to send completed work unit" and it just goes to the next. Im getting annoyed because I have 10 stored between each time and it wont send any of them!

Is there a way to automatically set the priority to high when it launches?

Have you posted on the folding forums about this? It can't hurt as I don't think any of us are having that type of problem.

What about your antivirus/firewall program, do you think it could be interfering? Try starting up the folding client once you disable your firewall and see if that changes things. I'm sorry to hear about your problems as it is great to have you back folding.
