Final X1900XTX speeds?

I personally think that a simpler more elegant naming scheme would benefit them more, like they used with the X1800's: XL and XT followed by XT:pE (Phantom Edition).

I only have a problem with names when I have to sit there in life and tell people about my setup. I spend 30 seconds saying video cards name than i go to my CPU which is another 30. Rest is pretty easy.

Ahh yes, you're right. The 5200 even comes in fanless varieties, i think. Even so, no deer in its right mind would go near either.

As far as the naming convention, I think the marketers are all on crack- and an idea bereft, plagerizing, crack riding lot they are. I'm still waiting for them to discover exponential or better yet, hexadecimal notation. How about the new ATI Radeon® X76CXTX²³ or Nvidia® GeForce 1EDC GTX. Maybe they could include some buzzwords...much like Nvidia did with the element Titanium® (Ti®), or even mix it up with the Greek alphabet.
I know, how about using the word Nano or Quantum in the name- that would be great.

Yeah, the naming sucks hard, but it stays that way because marketers think that people will buy more because they associate names like "Radeon" and "GeForce" with power, speed, price, etc. It's a brand recognition thing, one that really only exists to keep the greater unwashed mass out there buying products they have no idea whatsoever about, short of the lanky-haired goth down the street telling them they're noobs for owning anything less than "GeForce 2 billion" or "Radeon X####XXTTXX"
A little more inventiveness wouldn't go astray, though. I'm sick of "X" this, and "X" that. It's like a by-product of the porn industry, and god knows I haven't any more need of that stuff.

Yes, I also want to check out which setup is better.

Considering either X1900XTX Crossfire or Geforce 7900 GTX SLI.

However, by the time Unreal Tournament 2007 releases both ATI and Nvidia would have released newer cards. So I am a bit confused, too.
 
Yes I am more curious who will have the best motherboard out by then. I hope Nvidia releases nforce 5 or whatever they want to call it with updated sound and performance enhancments maybe an intel controller (NIC) something!

ATI well I don't think much of so I don't get my hopes up but I do hope for a good solid mobo and dual card solution from them hoepfully one not as crappy as xfire is now.
