now, I do have two questions...
First, the corsair 650w psu, on the specs it says it is compatible with intel core i7, it makes no mention of intel core i5. But, seeing as how this psu was referred to me in another thread and was paired up with the core i5-720, I'm guessing it's probably still okay and compatible with that chip. I just want to make sure before purchasing that psu.

Secondly, seeing as how this is my first pc to build, I've never really received parts and am not use to what all comes with them. My question is about cables. Will I need to buy additional cables to get everything hooked up correctly? or will the necessary cables come with the appropriate parts? I also will be purchasing 3 120mm fans to go along with that case, so keep that in mind with the cables as well.

Thank you very much for all the time and effort to those that spent time helping me figure out what i needed, and most of the time, letting me know what I didnt need :)

lol, ignore that bs marketing crap. yes, it will work fine with an i5.

mobo should come with all needed cables. check the newegg pics for details.

for the fans, grab some cheap $4 yate loon 120mm fans from jab-tech.com. ;)

Ditch the WD5000AAKS. Unless they switched to a single platter, the WD6400AAKS is significantly faster. If the Samsung F3 500GB is in stock when you order, go for that instead, as it, too, is significantly faster than the WD5000AAKS.

Antec 1200? It fits the HD5850, right? lol. I'm pretty sure it does... just a bit cramped for a $160 case, IMO. But alas, cases are personal preference.

The Corsair 650TX will be compatible with the Core i5 750. But, I see a combo with the G. Skill Ripjaw RAM. Take advantage of this combo for the same price.

As far as the cables, the SATA cables will come with the motherboard and the AC power cables will be included with the power supply.

I don't see why you need 3 more fans when the Antec 1200 already has 6 fans total. I would just buy 1 x 120MM fan for the side panel.

i was getting one for the side panel. and there is a slot on the back of the hdd rack that is movable that i wanted just in case the psu/gpu/or cpu runs a little hot i can adjust it to whichever is needed. and i was just getting an extra just in case one went out, cuz i hear they do that quite a bit. and they are only like 6 bucks each so its not a big buy.
and yeh, the antec 1200 should fit the 5850. its a full tower so it should have a decent bit of room. most of the midtower cases i was looking at it would have been too tight of a squeeze.
so, i most likely will be set on cables?

also, the samsung you mentioned on last thread is out of stock, which is why i switched over. but i will look into the other you just mentioned

also, on the psu you just linked me to guru. the type says atx v 2.3. what does that mean?

ATX V 2.3 basically means its a newer revision that is more energy efficient. The energy efficieny has increased from 70% to 80% now.

Actually I've found that Antec 1200 has LESS room than some $70 mid-tower ATX cases out there. Yes you'll be set on cables.

It's based on the latest ATX PSU specs. In other words: it's a good thing.

okay, thanks again. I really like the features of the antec 1200, and im very confident it will fit the 5850. measurements seem to add up in its favor (even if its not by much)

The Radeon HD 5850 is not a long card vs an Nvidia Geforce GTX 275/280 or Radeon HD 5870 video card. The 5850 measures at 9.5" which is the length of my Geforce 8800GT video card.

i cant remember where i saw this cuz i cant seem to find it now, but i remember seeing that the card was around 24 cm long. which comes out to almost 9 1/2 inches. so it should fit without a problem.
thanks again for all the input. I think I am finally ready to purchase tomorrow, unless anyone else has something to add in to that build.

is there a tower that you would suggest instead? that has a good amount of room for air circulation and is built well. either full tower or mid.

also, will the coolermaster hyper 212 get the job done in terms of cooling the cpu? and keep it cool enough to allow for overclocking

Hyper 212+ is good up too mid level overclocking (3.6 GHz).

Coolermaster 690-2 ftw

okay, i dont think i will be trying for much more than 3.5ghz anyway, but just out of curiousity, what would get me up closer to 4.0ghz range?

alright, thanks so much for the help everyone, my order has been placed. now i just have to wait patiently for it to arrive. and just have to hope i dont break anything while installing :)
