The demo is now out on xbox 360 marketplace and all I can say is wow. I always thought the videos of it were cg but I just played it and thats how the graphics really look. I recommend downloading it.

I just checked out the demo...

It clearly puts egg on the face of everyone who continues to doubt the Xbox 360's true power. ;)

holy crap

just downloaded and man does it look good...

can't wait for the full game...

ETA anyone?

I also tried the demo, there are obviously a few things that need twaeking but honestly, it looks really impressive. In fact, it looks almost exactly the same as the video shown at the ps3 announcement at the last e3. This I think really lends some cred to the idea that the ps3 and the 360 will really be vvery closely matched graphically. I think ps3 might get a slight edge, maybe higher texture filtering and AA, but probably not much in the way of actually game complexity. I kinda wish they would have had the corner section in the demo (for anyone who has never played fight night in between rounds you have to fix up your fighter).

I've only tried it on my SDTV but it looked really nice. I'll have to try it on my HDTV later on. The game is supposed to come out in febuary. I really like the graphics but I don't know if I'll buy it just for that since I'm not really a boxing fan, but I'm sure I could get into it.

THis is amazing, THIS looks EXACTLY like that video from ps3, I have never been so impressed with a demo.

Only problem is on my tv its just a normal 21 inch, I cant read the controls on the load menu its to scrunched. I have the same problem on my nba live i cant see the score lol..

Quick question. I havent played any of the other fightnights, but why does it seem like my punches are just little taps? do i have to use the joystiq and like get some momentum? cuz pressing x just seems like im rubbing his face for fun

not a boxing fan but this game is amazing i think ill buy it

Downloading it now. Do the players move realistically because I thought in the movies they moved kinda jerky. I guess I'll see for myself in a bit.

One more thing the xbox 360 is one awesome console. If the ps3 is as good we all win.

the animation is soooooooooo smooth, not jerky nor unrealistic at all. This shot up to my #1 must have game, more so than GOW or Oblivion, it's that damn goo - create a boxer, all the legends, plus online - ohhh baby!

Graphics are amazing, gameplay is different from FN:R2 for XBOX though . . . guess ya gotta get used to it. If this games get a little more polishing, this will be a huge seller.

Well I played it for myself and I wouldn't say soooooo smooth. At times the fighters seem a little "stiff". Maybe I'm being picky or maybe I'm just upset that I kept getting my ass handed to me. How the hell do you land a decent punch? This game does have promis. Especially with online play.

man I wished I had caught this before my friends just left, woulda liked to try it out with them, oh well downloadin now.

Are you using the "total control punch" method to throw? Dont use the "A" "X" etc. buttons, use the right stick to thorw yourpunches, you kinda do clockwise and counter clockwise and such to throw punches. Thats how to throw hard. I got used to it from FN2 for the Xbox so thats how I know how to throw. Too bad there's no tutorial, but that'll be there in the full version. Trust me, play with it and you'll love it.

I disagree they're stiff, when you throw a haymaker watch out!

Dl'ed it tonight. First time playing 360 tonight. All I can say is: I'm impressed! I love it. I downloaded NBA 06 and Fight Night 3 demos. Condemned tommorow. System seemed fine but the room got real warm and Fight Night started acting wierd. This was with the power brick laying flat with Microsoft logo aimed up. I flipped it on it's side and it seemed fine then. That sucker gets warm and I recommend you put it on it's side with good airflow.

And Fight Night Round 3 =

I personally can not believe the realism in the graphics of this game. Hello true next-gen graphics. My friends and I were checking it out and we are all completely blown away.

The graphics are sick.

The graphics are indeed amazing, the gameplay is awesome just like FNR2. I wish that you had the option of putting up health and endurance meters though.

There are also some graphical glitches with the replay system, and punches will occasionally go through heads and necks and stuff. It should be ironed out in the final version though.

After reading all these posts, I just sent my fiance to the house so that she can pack up my 360 and take it over to my brother in-laws to download the demo for me before I get home. (I would do it from my house, but there is no broadban available in my area)

What is the fighting system like? I know the game looks good, but how does it play?

those are just jabs and stuff use the right analog sticks for total punch contorl.

down and rotate right and up gives you a nasty right uppercut. push to the right and rotate up gives you a nasty right hook or just push up to the right gives you a nice right jab. and revers it for the left side.

takes bit to get use to but comes reall natural.

You can change the controls so that you use the buttons for all punches. However I strongly suggest you get use sticks for punching.

I even remember posting on here like 2 years ago how god awful the stick system was until I learned it... Then it was

Definitely learn it rather than changing the controls.

I don't even have an XBOX and I''m pumped for this.

Only use the sticks, never buttons. Seriously.

It's my favorite game so far, and I Boxing games (and sports games in general) aren't even close to being my favorite category.

I love it! No HUD at all, and it plays like a movie. I especially love the commentary and the replays, it definitely gives it a Pay-Per-View feel to it.

The graphics are phenmonal... minus the shorts. It looks like they are wearing garbage bags. However, I will be passing on this one. Not a fan of boxing one bit, and I don't like the games controls anyways .

Ok....how do you do all the different special punches like the stun punch? I can do a hook, jab, and uppercut along with the RB special punch but cant for life of me figure out the other 2 special punches I have heard about. Anyone know how?

There isn't that much true power if you think about it. There isn't much to render just the boxing arena and the people. Polygon and shader wise its probably exactly the same as a level for a huge game.

But still, nobody's been able to do anything like that before on a previous console. So regardless of how much power it needs to make that happen, until somebody pushes those poly's through my dreamcast, I'm impressed.

The key to kicking butt on the demo is to play as the blue guy. I made the mistake and played as the red dude and got wasted every time. It was fun. I found myself laughing since I was wailing on him.

Ha, downloaded it yesterday guys! I just kept it on the down-low! :p But, wow, the graphics are stunning! Even on an SDTV, it looks great. Pretty soon, though....I will have an HDTV! I can't wait to play it on a 51" screen!

I was huge into FNR2 so me and my friends picked this up right away. FNR3 is a lot more slow paced than the old ones, you can't throw super haymaker combo's anymore, and without the hud it's hard to tell how much damage you're doing. So you kind of have to just beat the hell out of the other guy with 1-2-3 hook combos and just mix it up a lot. then when you think he's looking tired, try to set up for a big hit with the stick. We like to use the buttons for throwing combinations and then the stick for precisely timed shots and big haymakers / stun punches and those things.

This game has a lot of improvements over round 2 but i think it needs to be refined more before release. I'll be awaiting challengers when an online demo comes out or the full game releases

How do you stun punch?

 Who gives a f***!? Have you seen anything better on any other console or PC? Nope. Can you do better? Probably not. Oh well, there will always be haters, just wait till the next generation of games come out :D

Downloaded some movies hearing all this raving about it...God damn that is a sweet looking game.

Anyone who doubts the 360 or what next gen consoles can do.. NEEDS to see this in person. Screw downloading a video online... find someone who has a 360, demand they download the FNR3 demo and bring an extra pair of underwear.

Yes, its that good.

edit. Keep in mind the 360 launched just a few weeks ago. I can't wait to see what sort of games are possible a year from now!
