Hi, what is the difference between a agp and pci gfx card? i was looking to buy one.

Which one is better the nvidia 6600 gt or the normal 6800 256mb ?

my comp system is

AMD 3500
msi k8n neo2 plat
1g of ram

Any recommended vid cards? And which slot should i buy?

Thx

PCI-Express gives cards higher bandwidth with slots at 16X. The motherboard you listed as having is not compatible with these cards so make sure the card you get is a AGP slot. If you can afford it the 6800 256mb is better card.

The 6600GT Comes in AGP, and I believe a 6800 comes in AGP too.

Vanilla 6800 runs ~$250 and the 6600GT runs ~$200. I think it's worth the extra cash to go with the 6800, and see if you can unlock the extra pipelines (not sure what kind of successes people are having nowadays). I had a BFG 6800 non-ultra and it worked great. 6800 AGP is only 128mb though. The 256mb one is PCI-E.
