Fastest Card On The Planet

This needs to be SLI capabal and have 1025 megs o ram on the card for me to get a full on robot chubby
 
I seem to remember reading somewhere that nVidia stated that SLI can support more than two cards (or multicore cards I suppose), so maybe SLI with these would work, even if it has to be without an SLI bridge.
I definitely remember reading the article (dont have the link handy) that ASUS was making dual 7800GTs, and it also said they were making dual 7800GTXs, so these wont be the fastest for too long.
 
depends, i remember seeing the dual 6600GT's using SLI on the same PCB, making it unable to support multiple of them

maybe this is using SLI on the pcb as well?
 
What about that X1800XT that is over clocked so high it beat out two 7800GTXs in Sli?

I dont see why not, seeing as its basically two cards in SLI on one PCB. And I doubt they would knowingly make the interface that the two cores communicate over a bottleneck. As for bus bandwidth, modern cards are just starting to cap out AGP 4x. It'll be a while before we see a card capable of saturating PCI-e 16x - and by then we'll be on PCIe2, if not a later generation.
 
^ A single card yes but two cards in SLi and Cross Fire have lots of info they need to send back and fourth.

B.) that was not out of the box as purchased.
C.) in concept you could overclock this
B.) i have seen overclocked GTX's that did better.
C.) this will be the fasted card out of the box you can get.

That overclock wasn't even all the impressive...people got higher clocks out of the x850xtpe...

This makes me want to use the whole, "Where can I buy it? :rolleyes: " thing most people do for ATi but unlike them I understand that this is just a preview. And that it is coming soon.

Yeah but the X850XTPE would have to reach insane clocks to work as hard as a G70 or R520.
 
Still haven't found a card that makes me want to shell out cash over my 9800pro 128mb.

I agree with your sentiments... ppl upgade way too frequently, lol sheesh, find something else to spend your money on... I swear every other thread has someone going "OMG I have a Geforce 7800 GTX, should I upgrade to X1800 XT?" or something similar.

I have a ATI 9800 Pro with an Artic Silencer Cooler on it and I love it, BUT it does not even stand up too my 7800 GT :D I upgraded to PCI-E and went with the 7800 GT Combo and I love the grafics on this card, I can now Play at Higher Res and the frame rates are not even close. I no Longer Lag in my games, I think the Old 9800 Pro's days are numbered atleast for my Online Play. I still use it in my other system and it runs good but you can't compare the 2 Cards, gaming is just not the same anymore :D

Exactly my feelings, I can play CS:S and Doom 3, and most likely Q4 at 1600x1200 just fine, so why should I bother shell out another $300-$600?
