Far Cry 5 System Specs Released

I'm in the same boat. Hell, my monitor is 1920x1200!

I have no intentions of upgrading from my 970 until there's something worth upgrading for.

I miss the 16:10 screen ratio - especially in mutliplayer games that have a vertical movement element to them, like those with jetpacks, wall jumping, climbing, etc.

Oh, you mean you use it for a form of supersampling AA?

Personally I've never used the feature, as I'm usually trying to run at 4k, so I'd be running lower and scaling up instead which just looks blurry and shitty.

My go to steps when I can't quite make 4k work are instead to create a custom ultrawide resolution (3840x1646) and play letterboxed top and bottom on the screen. That immediately tends to improve framerates by about 25%.

If I still can't make 60fps work, I take advantage of the fact that I game on a TV as my monitor, and it has European TV refresh rate compatibility, so I try vsync to 50hz instead of 60.

Only if that doesn't work, do I try to drop settings below "ultra" in game.

In my case, I set everything to 4K resolution but only 65% or or 70% so it's rendering the equivalent of something close to 1440p.
I've done some comparisons of max details doing that vs. true 4K with lower details and it's better looking. Ditto with 1080p set to 130%.
I'm the biggest stickler for 60fps you'll ever find, so I refuse to play anything on the PC unless I can do that.
It's a handy feature. Plus, with some TV's with lower latency at their native resolution it's handy for staying at 4K.

Yes they have, doom was multiplayer and back then people just played the game instead of worrying about FPS and "experience" and that BS.

No doubt. Getting a decent frame rate meant that you could comfortably play the game without studdering and stuff. Now a decent frame rate means eye candy galore at more than necessary - Max+, frame rates.........although I must admit that this 'is' the [H]
