Fans that work horizontally?

Hey everyone, I'm looking to install two 120mm fans on the bottom of my NCase M1 as intakes to cool off my graphics card and other components. What fans work in a horizontal orientation?

I know some fans will begin to rattle over time, and I'm having a hard time finding solid Google results for this issue :|

Pretty much any decent quality fan wont have issues, alot of radiators run in this orientation, so long as you dont have cheap fans you should be ok. Any fan should be fine for a while regardless, before making noise

Avoid sleeved bearings if you can. Some might work fined but it is a bit of a gamble. Fluid dynamic or ball bearings will work well, if not bottom of the barrel.

I tried a hydro-dynamic bearing (Cougar Vortex, PWMs) and they were pretty terrible.. whining noise at low RPM, and some minor scraping/scratching noises every now and then. Maybe I had a bad batch..

It's unfortunate that getting Vortex fans that don't have issues with horizontal mounting seems to be a crapshoot. I have 7 of them, 6 black PWM and one orange non-PWM 1200RPM, and none of them have had any problems when at the lowest motherboard speed settings in that orientation. I currently have 2 mounted horizontally on my H100i connected with a PWM splitter to the motherboard, and the only noise I get out of them is air noise when they ramp up close to max speed when the system is under load.

A fan I could wholeheartedly recommend for a good balance of noise/airflow is the B-Gears blaster in either 120 or 140MM variant. They aren't PWM, they are dual ball-bearing and can push a LOT of air, even when faced with heavy restriction from filters. The 120MM are rated for something like 100CFM @ 2000RPM, but I've never had to run the two I've used as intakes past 50% speed for excellent results.

I don't know of any place that goes more into depth about fans than silentpcreview.com:

"Bearing type — ball bearings appear to last longer than sleeve and other bearings, but this is not universally agreed."
SilentPCReview Recommended Fans page 1

"The use of ball bearings is unusual in a quiet fan; most use sleeve or modified sleeve bearings, which generally tend to be quieter."

The second quote was talking about the Scythe Gentle Typhoon D1225C12B2AP-12 (the 120mm 800RPM version) which reviewed very well there, and is on amazon for $24 each.

I've been running 8 Scythe GT 1850's in a horizontal config (top radiator) for over 3 years now and can vouch that they are very solid. I've had zero issues with them, no rattles whatsoever and they perform just as good as the day I installed them.

A good fan wont have any issues not matter its orientation, which is probably why you arent finding anything on google.
