Hey guys im setting up a new rig and i have the fans mounted on the back side of the radiator in a pull fashion, of course doing so the fans are quite noticable. They are AC.Ryan 120 fans that are rated not too loud but when you put them up to the radiator they do make some decent noise. I guess its the nature of the beast from the fans being mounted in this fashion. Are there any fans out there that are less loud and can pull/push some good air? The radiator is a 240 GT Stealth.

thanks!

Yate Loons are widely regarded as some of the best fans for rads in 120mm format.. They're quiet, reliable and push (or pull, in your case) quite a chunk of air.

Yates are the best silent fans meant for radiators. Here's a link you'll find handy to help you determine what's the best fan for your needs. It's a test of a series of fans done by a mod on XS: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=137832

I use a combination of Yates for my normal low speed/low noise operation and Sharkoon Golfball 2000's (considered the best medium speed fan) for when temps reach a critical level.

If I have to ever replace or add a new fan, I will give those Yate Loon's a try. Back when I started water cooling, the best fans to buy were manufactured by Pabst.

Maybe stick a Vantec Fan Mate 2 on them and turn them down when not gaming, cheap solution. And if you get the Loons you can do the same thing, dial in your quiet vs performance.

If you check the XS link, the Pabst fans are arguably the best or tied with the Sharkoon Golfballs for the best for the medium CFM division. Yate Loons excel in the low CFM category.

Cathar's doing separate testing of fans on rads... the fan testing vapor did isn't directly applicable to performance on a radiator as doesn't account for pressure imposed by radiator cores. That's why the Yates excel over some more powerful fans...

What are you talking about? He tested with a Swiftech radiator...
