Hey guys, the 120mm at the back of my case is making these strange sort of what I can mostly describe as 'chirping' noises, or the sound that birds make.

How do I get it to stop?

Sounds like the fan is on a low frequency PWM control. Try using speedfan to change the speed and see what happens.

I didn't touch the fan, and it just stopped chirping.

I guess something must have got caught inbetween the grid or something. The fan isn't hooked up to the motherboard anyway, it uses it's own molex connection directly from the PSU. :(

its dying, slowly but surely, The sound you heard was dry bearings. It will come back sooner or later. You might prolong the life by removing the fan, laying it down and gently peeling the sticker off of the hub to expose the shaft/bearing and putting 1 small drop of motor oil or other high quality oil on the bearing and letting it soak in for a few minutes before putting the fan back in service. Dont use 3 in 1 oil it evaporates. a glue stick or rubber cement or even tape can be used to stick the sticker back down if it does not want to stay.
