Fallout Revelation

You seemed pretty defensive on the subject. If it didn't bother you why did you go out of your way to make me feel bad about criticizing your use of words?

But you just ignored my explanation on why your critique is too harsh.

Yes it was. You could even say it was deliberate nitpicking. As was his critique of the video. That was part of the point.

It was not my intention to be defensive, or make you feel bad, but it was your intention to "nitpick" my explanation. My criticism of the video was not intentional, it was my initial reaction. Even if they live in the vault, it looked like it had been open for a long time, and the female looked like she walked out of a beauty salon, he was clean shaven, they just look out of place. Its not harsh, its what i see. Then i start to look for other problems, instead of trying to enjoy the film. They did a lot of things right, but making people look dirty, hungry and desperate does not require a big budget, and thats what bothers me, its just lazy. Now, if they would have shown a pristine settlement, compound or something like the institute, just before the two actors, then i could see them looking that way, but every thing was desolate and decaying right up until you see them. There are a lot of big-budget films that i have never finished because of details just like that. Call me a snob, or harsh, but its no different than many on this site who criticize hardware.

Since most vaults have electricity and running water why would Personal Hygiene be neglected, They might be hungry, really, they should be dirty too, and have dirty clothes, maybe they should even smell bad! Just look at the people in Vault 81, they are all well fed and clean. I find it hard to criticize the makers of this on that front. There are other issues but the look of the vault dwellers shouldn't be near the top of the list.

The problem is, the vault shown is open. Have yet to see an open vault that has not been ransacked by raiders and whomever else. As for running water, not all vaults were designed to house people, and usually those try to remain sealed and hidden. Personal hygiene is one thing, these actors looked like they walked out of a salon. The whole premise of fallout is desperation, war and the future of human survival on the edge of extinction, those actors do not look like people you would run into out in the wasteland, rather look like people you would see at comic con. As i said, for me they stick out like a sore thumb.

This is what im talking about. This homeless guy is surrounded by Fresh water, electricity and a government that keeps civilization in tact. Yet despite all these amenities around him, he looks hungry, dirty, and desperate. No post nuclear war, no roving raiders, super mutants, radiated creatures roaming around, he's just poor and homeless. Why does he not look as good as those actors? Maybe, because finding a place to sleep, food and water are far more important than hygiene.

But the original star wars WAS cheap and low budget :| how does this help your point?

Huh? my response was for Trepidati0n acting like a 13 year old, not the fan made film. By the way, Fox budgeted 8 million for star wars, and it ended up costing 11,000,000.
Not exactly Low budget for 1977, adjusted for inflation...around 35-40 million. So, not "low budget"

There is one in Fallout 4.

I noticed the cars in the background, and the drone flying in the frame. And after that I was actively looking for more goofs. But it didn't make me dismiss the whole video outright. As I said now three times. This could be deliberate on the part of the creators and not a mistake. So it probably has nothing to do with budget.

That's your problem right there. Why do you need them to show it to you? Use your imagination to find an explanation on how can there be clean people. If they had shown a loaf of bread you would not accept it unless they show a bakery in the video too?

Use my imagination? I'm not reading a book, im watching a film that is supposed to tell a story visually. Many parts fit the story, but that scene just stood out as wrong. You keep arguing that its possible, and im not arguing whether is possible or not, im just saying for me they did not fit. Despite your speculation of what the director meant to portray, it was a flaw for me. I made my assessment based on what i saw, and what i know of the fallout universe, not on what could be, or what the director might have been thinking. Plausible or not, they looked out of place.

Terrible marketing apparently, they're still 99% away from their goal with 6 days to go lol.
