The best Fallout was the one Bethesda had the least involvement in. I hold little hope for this, as I got bored with Fallout 4 and DNF.

  1. New Vegas - A+
  2. Fallout - A
  3. Fallout 2 - A
  4. Fallout 3 - C
  5. Fallout 4 - C-
  6. Fallout 76 - not my thing, tried, couldn't get into it.
Seems unlikely they will recapture the magic.

New Vegas - A+

I liked New Vegas but lets not forget about the invisible walls all over the place that hindered exploration. Most prevalent in the southern bit of the map.

See you guys in about a decade at 2035

Yeah not really worth making a thread about this now. Pre-production for a regular AAA game means 3-4 years away from release. For these guys, that means a least 6-7 years.

I believe there is a new Obsidian Fallout game that will start development but the current iteration of Obsidian doesn't instill much confidence.

Didn't paly the originals (fallout 1 & 2) but have played the rest. My list looks quite different..

Fallout 3 - A
Fallout 4 - B+
Fallout 76 - C+
Fallout NV - C

I know I'm in the minority, but NV just felt bland and boring with hardly any exploring compared to Fallout 3.

I agree with your scoring except I would give 76 a D. I also do not get the love for NV. I'm seriously considering giving it another shot to see if I was missing something the first time.

I liked nv and 4, but when I went to play 3, it kept crashing on me and I never went back. Maybe I should give it a revisit.

Yeah, NV was extremely limited, you were always walking between two invisible walls, it's about as limited as Metro Exodus was.

The only thing I'd keep from NV is the hardcore mode, or whatever it was called, where you actually needed to eat, drink and sleep. That made the whole survivor aspect 10 times better, because you needed to plan ahead where you were going to sleep.
I think apart from that it's a pretty overrated game. I always preferred F3 in everything else.

My love for FO3 is probably because I busted my FO cherry on that one. I went to Walmart late one night and bought it. I stayed up till 6am the next day just exploring and killing stuff.

Fallout 5 - still aways off - waiting patiently.

Fallout 3 Remastered - same as above

Fallout NV Remastered - I certainly hope they don't do what Obsidian did and end the game when Legion or NCR leaders are killed. I hated NV for that s[H]it.

Fallout 76 - played for a bit but didn't care for the fact your character effectiveness was dependent on luck of card draws.
