I understand that computers don't last forever. Turning them on and off, dust getting sucked in, physical wear and tear, moving parts wearing out, temperature volatility -- there are many reasons.
But what if a computer is kept in a clean, stable environment and not used? Will a computer still age when it is not used and not plugged in?
Another way to ask my question: Does simply not using a computer for twelve months equate to adding twelve months to its usable life?
