Well i blew through the main quest and instead of continuing i restarted and Im having a great time making money in the town square market place. Actually I like this aspect of the game more than the main quest!......I just bought the INN after buying and selling weapons from the blacksmith....I made close to 100,000 in a very short time...sweet. I also bought two homes that I am renting out. Much fun.

Also...just curious, If you are playing and got married, who did you end up marrying?

I married a middle class woman from Old Town and a prostitute from Bloodstone. Got to mix it up a little you know? :D

rofl, is it possible for them to find eachother and get into a cat fight over you? :D i may have to pick this game up!

if you like these types of games you will really like this one....there is a ton of stuff to do..lots of side quests ect....on the other hand its pretty easy. but i am having a good time playing it...

I need to take a vacation just to play this game. I'll pick it up over xmas.

Although I haven't confirmed it myself, a friend of mine said he had two wifes run into each other, and they do start arguing and stuff.

Yes, yes it is.

Someone on one of the other forums made it a mission to turn Bowester into a Classical Mormon Compound by marrying every woman he could and setting them up in the town. Seems that as long as you set the daily allowance high enough, they'll just complain a lot and never actually divorce you! :p

that isnt true i pay the allowance 1000+ and they still leave me eventually, even if the logbook says they are very happy and such, maybe because i play a pure evil chara? im on my 6th wife, a hooker from bloodstone, i even decorate the house nicely, give them gifts and sex.. pay attention to the baby if we have one.

From the way you describe it, it sounds exactly like the Allowance bug where the value you set doesn't stay and actually is 0. Causing any and every wife you get to eventually leave you.

- If your wife suddently starts complaining she hates the house and you should move, check your budget, if it's set to 0 thought luck you glitched. Even if you try changing your budget to something other than 0 it will revert back to 0 once you exit the daily budget window. This is the reason for all those random divorces people have been having.

Well, I've married about 6-7 dudes and about 8 women. Had kids with a couple of them.

I am only married to one dude right now. Did the old fashion drag them into an area with bad guys and letting them kill my spouse. You get rid of them and no evil or corrupt points for you. :D I'm glad the didn't change that from Fable 1.

you talking to me? because i have never noticed that, i always get docked the allowance i set at the house twice a day.. no wife ever complained not once, just i would be on my way to pay a visit, try and do visits every other day and BAM!! you wife has divorced you and left the region message

I married Lisa the Gypsy from the Gypsy camp- moved her into the house to the left of the female tailor in Bowerstone.

So i have to say I am finding the game after the main quest to be really fun...more so than the main event.
I bought Fairfax Castle today and really enjoyed the quest that is within.
I have also bought all the property in the surrounding area/town....the town square ect and I am making some nice bank.
The side quests are great and I have definitely gotten my moneys worth out of this title.

Aye, in my opinion some of the demon doors and the "hidden" quests / dungeons were the best content in the game.

I've been spending more time doing the side quest stuff, and still haven't gotten too far with the main quest. I'm trying to shoot all the gargoyles, and open all the demon doors. Of course some of them I still have to go back and do, because it'll turnout I'm missing ONE key thing to open it (like an expression).

Bought the Graveyard Mansion today and earned the title of "KING" if i want to pick it up from the Town Cryer for no fee. I had already earned "MAYOR".
The Graveyard Quest in the cave was good.
Also bought the Tower today and slept in the magic bed....much fun.
Still havent gotten married yet......I might do the Ghost Lover? quest and then marry the girl instead of the other choice...hmmm....

Yea... I just started playing and it definitely fun. I played like 6 hours and half of it doing the blacksmithy to get money and trying to master it.

How long is the main game quests?

Depends how you play. You could technically speed run it in under 6 hours, but it's more like 12 for most people and on my first run through it took me about 20 hours (with a bunch of side quests), and another 20 hours to get everything done (all side quests, all collectibles etc).

The main quest? Possibly, but as stated earlier the best stuff is outside of the main quest anyway.

Just beat it my first time through. Had 4.5 Million gold at the end. I basically only bought houses and did it every chance I got. I knew it was getting big when I didn't play for 4 days and when I logged in I got 435 thousand gold in rent. I now own EVERY building and stall in the game.

me to...now I'm trying to find all the gargoyles without cheating...have about 35 of them so far...and i still havent gotten married.....might save that for last..

...oh and i loved the story about the farmer who is gay and you have to find him a boyfriend..thought that was very funny.

yeah good game.

i'm disappointed in the clothing though. not enough options, i think. There are only a handful of "outfits" that you can mismatch.

I agree- clothing is too limited. Plus even when firearms were first gaining popularity there was still armor around, which makes me wish they had added some of that to the game too... at least the options for chainmail, breastplates, etc.

I am having a fun time with the game. I am currently making so much money in it that I cant spend it fast enough since I own almost every single place that you can buy.

Yea I did this in a few towns out of wondering what will happen. My character has like 13 families.

I did that one and didn't have a ring with me. No clue where she went off too.

Also started with a female character in the game to see what the difference was between them as a friend started with a male hero. I switched her to a male character later in the game which was funny because I now have a few spouses that will not go near me.

Have every property that I know of in the game and am still playing through some of the side quests. Missed the gay farmer mission but did it on a friends system.

I finally finished the game last night. Overall I liked it better then the first Fable, but it still suffered from some of the flaws that the original game had. One example is the weapons, and how it's far too easy to quickly own the best weapons in the game, even though you're not very far into it. Though I guess with a game this short it's sort of harder to pull of really starting out with the weakest stuff, and only being able to upgrade, every so often, over longer periods of time.

At least once you finish the game there's till a lot to do. I'm going to mess around with my current game (even though I beat it), and then eventually start a whole new game, and play as an evil woman.

Yea I was for the most part a good person in this current game. Might have to go through and start over being evil.

How are you guys making money so fast?

Start buying real estate as fast as possible. You get money from it every day in the game. The biggest thing is that even when you are not playing you still make money.

I do most of my gaming on the weekends. When I started playing I got some of the cheap places. The game sat during the week and when I fired it up the next weekend I had enough money to buy a bunch of properties. Used all my money to buy property, repeat.

By the time I got to Westcliff I was able to walk in and buy the whole town. At Bloodstone my gold was in the Millions.

I think Fable II made a huge leap forward in the game engine and overall experience. However I think the story really died at the end, first it was again a little short but more importantly the ending didn't have an epic battle nor a real ending. The battle of escaping the Spire around the mid point of the game was much cooler.

Lionhead I think did a great job of creating a game now they just need a great story to go along with it.

So that means you pretty much had all the best weapons really quickly too?

Maybe I won't buy all the property so that I can't just get whatever weapon I want at any time, lol. I'm maybe 3 hours into the game... not far along on the main story at ALL.

Yea I made a lot buying up properties quick as well. Even the best weapons in the game don't really cost much though so it doesn't matter. I beat the game in a few days so I didn't have all of the property like some of the others did but I have it all now.

I played all the side quests, so I actually never bought any weapons. Everything I used were either from demon doors or from side quests like the Brightwood farm quests.

I just picked up the game yesterday and I'm having a great time. By the same in-game time in Fable, I'd already finished the game thanks to my misunderstanding of how aging worked, and that kind of ruined it for me. I like the pacing in 2 much better, and, obviously, the horsepower increase has allowed much better environments where in the first one it always felt a bit claustrophobic.
