Does anyone know what protocol the F@H client uses to pull down WUs? I want to use it to load up some servers to test them, but if they don't use standard HTTP it will be almost impossible to get IT to unblock the ports.

it use HTTP port 80 and 8080 to download and upload WUs.

Grr, damn port 8080

Be really nice to put 96 cores to work for a while.

i'm assuming prt 8080 is a no go for you then ?

Soudns like you have some serious hardware you can put to use

wow that'd be nice

ugh

a guy on another team set up a cascading proxy via squid I think to get through HP's network. Maybe you could try that if you have any idea what any of that means (I don't)

4 dual Xeon X5650 servers (hex core w/ hyper threading). so 24 "cores" per server & 24gb of ram per server.

daaammmmm thats some nice powar!!!.....now to find a work around ;)

edit: dont ask me for it, since well i dont know, others here may though

works fine if i vpn into my home network, but i don't want to have to leave them connected all the time since then i have to connect to my home server just to rdp into them

W00t, got them up and running. They are now on our external network. Currently going through 1% progress in a minute or two :)

That will be a pretty big ppd boost! How long do you have access to them?

couple of months :) and the easy client thingy is showing ~50k PPD each right now. To bad I ended up dropping out of the competitions because my windows install on my desktop at home died.

Wow that's some major production. Nice job!

Did you set the bigadv option for them?

Yes, I did. How did you get the "Posted via [H] Mobile Device" in your post, or did you have to type that out?

When on your phone there's a dropdown box that let's you select mobile style. It automatically adds that text to each post.
