Since Im new to folding (started two weeks ago) and I plan on running 24/7, I want to make sure that I am maximizing my PPD. Of course it goes without saying that I am folding for team 33! I have a hand full of computers folding but I have two that I am most concerned with. They are both dual Xeon x5650 with Turbo and HT enabled servers with 48GB of 1333 RDDR3 each. They are both running Server 2008 R2 w/SP1.
One of the servers has quite a lot going on but it still manages to pull ~56k PPD. The other server has very little in the way of tasks and it pulls ~62k PPD. Just pure SMP, no GPU. I have FAH GPU Tracker V2 as my client for both servers with bigadv switch enabled.
My question is, should I switch to another client or does it not matter? Also, the underworked server could be switched over to Linux. Is it going to make that big of a difference? Thank you in advance!
My current overall PPD is ~200k with all my systems but that number is going up with time as I have added more to my farm just recently.
