i was just wondering if it was recommended to do so. i could let it run when im not home :O i have a few shitty amd 1.4 ghz laying around here that will be up and folding when i get my new router. so... is it recommended?

I don't see why it would be a problem, because F@H adjusts to let other applications use the CPU as needed. If you were really paranoid about it, you could just pause or end F@H while playing your games, and then turn it back on when you are done gaming.

I play Call of Duty at night for an hour or two, I notice no performance loss while the machine is folding.

download F@H, and in the config enter 33 for team number. easy as pie.

since you mentioned gaming, i'm assuming you have a good cpu with enough memory, so you can turn on big work units that will get you more points - under the connection tab, choose "allow receipt of work assignments greater than 5mb..."

I don't notice anything when I'm gaming. I don't do a whole lot of gaming since I really don't have time or anything, but when I do, there are no problems. btw, I suggest the console version and not the graphical version.

To join the [H]orde, when you start up the client for the first time and it asks for username and team, just put the username you want to use and 33 for the team number. After that, you will be folding for the [H]orde.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. You may also want to go through the FAQ and check out the stuff in there. It may answer a lot of questions you may have. But if it's not in there or you are having some type of problem, then ask away since there should be someone here that has an answer.

thanks im testing it first on my system in sig. then if it works ill try it on my p4 :O

Welcome to the [H]orde!

as soon as you finish a Work Unit, you get a cool [H]

also I subtract your Ghz from the "D"......to 1000Ghz Thread

yes.

EDIT: just read your last post , lol. The graphical version is less efficient than the text (console) version as it uses computer resources to render the graphics. Therefore, it'd be best to go with the console.

I notice no performance difference while gaming. Like someone else said, use the client version, not the graphical version.

Is that machine stable yet, or is it still crashing because of the bad overclock?
If it's not fixed, don't fold, you'll only be wasting time and breaking the science.

Performance affecting games really has more to do with memory management than with CPU usage. Games will take over the CPU and you will not notice a hang up, but if your system has 512MB or less of memory and you are playing a game like Half-Life 2 then you might have some issues.

I run FAH as a service (2000 and XP) and stop the service when I am doing any serious gaming, but otherwise leave it on.

Does your MB have a functioning PCI/AGP lock? The overclocking might have been causing instability in your videocard.

yes but it use a ratio instead of a independant clock speed lock. The error i get is the memory cant be read one. yet my ram is some pc3200 and i was only trying to run it at 193-197 3-4-4-9 :/ Sometime i dont even get an error message. the game simply crash back to the desktop

He's got a KT600 board, from what i can tell in the other forums.

Anywho, as long as it's prime95 stable for 24 hours, go nuts.
