Hey guys, I noticed my folder tend to drag when it comes to uploading the WU. See the log below:

There is an unusually long lag between finishing the core to 100% and shutting down core (it took more than an hour during these two processes).

Do you know if this is something that can be fixed or is this normal?

amang,

You could also edit /etc/fstab and add barrier=0 to the mount options to get rid of the end of unit delay, but the Musky script will give you the best folding setup.

H.

Thanks for the tip, guys.

Also, does this issue have anything to do with my mechanical hard drive in ext4 file system?

In a very convoluted way, yes.

But do not draw the conclusion that FAH requires SSD-class I/O performance. It's just very
poorly written application.

Barrier=0 seems helps only a little bit in 12.04 for some undetermined reason (from my
testing).

Recommended way forward is using ramdisk (tmpfs) by virtue of musky's fahinstall
(note: it installs to ~/fah/) or manual setup described in DC guides section.

Echoing what these guys have said. It'll be well worth the time to get everything installed with the musky install.
