strafing stutter kills it on Nvidia.
I have yet to notice any stuttering.

Seriously, who uses lean anymore. LMAO. It's got a built in cover system. Lean = lolz
I have yet to notice any stuttering.
I'm on a GTX 480 and haven't seen that.
I wonder if it's some hiccup between the game and SLI setups?
In this game it's a nice bit of both. You press the Q button to take cover and then you can "lean" either from the side or take shots over the top. It's nice.![]()
you probably haven't played the previous 2 or the expansions have you?
Do you see the "strafe stuttering" as I mentioned in a previous post? Is that when you're referring to "movement feels strange"? Because I would completely agree.
GTX 470.
I think I may already know the answer to my question, but is there leaning in in this one?

Wait, what's wrong with lean? I've never actually heard anyone say it was stupid before. The fact this game has it is in no way a turnoff...
The stuttering is believed to be caused by the motion blur in the game. At low FPS its not as noticable and was implemented for consoles @ 30 fps. But for those of us with high end hardware getting 100+ fps it's very noticable.
Its pretty wide spread issue now and gaining ground.

OK, now it makes complete sense. I always use vsync, therefore I'm capped at around 30fps, so I never see the stuttering. At 30fps though, since that's only as fast as the eye can see/interpret anyway, there's no noticeable difference between 30fps and 60fps, so it still runs smooth and looks great.

I'm not gonna argue with you, but the 30 fps comment is absolutely so untrue. I love my 120 Hz LCD the difference over 60hz was night and day. I can't stand 60 fps. Homefront, Bulletstorm, etc I had to remove the 62 fps cap in UT 3 based games cause 60 fps annoys me. 30 fps is so annoying to me its unplayable.
Gimme 80+ FPS because thats where I find games to be smooth. I know, I have bionic eyes.
Yup I also use Vsync. Probably why I don't see it. There is a huge difference between 30fps and 60fps. 60fps+ not so much.
Yep, anything above 60fps, I've never noticed, or known anyone to notice, a difference.
But is the reason for that because these games were running on a 60 hz monitor? On a 120 hz monitor, you should be able to tell the difference. I've never personally seen a game running at 60+ fps being displayed on a 120 hz monitor, but I have messed around with a 120 hz monitor from the desktop. And just dragging the mouse cursor on the desktop, I noticed a marked difference in smoothness. I'm assuming it's the same when you're running a 120 fps game on a 120 hz display.
Just about any UE3 based game is capped at 62 fps... try that on a 120hz and it's instant headache for me. 120hz makes such a big difference but you still need 60+ fps for it to be fluid.

How have you been a member of this forum for so long and still believe the 30fps myth (well... 24fps myth but you get where I'm coming from). In real time rendering which is not subject to film capture motion blur there is an extremely noticeable difference between 30 and 60, and it certainly doesn't stop at 60.
Seriously, who uses lean anymore.
A couple of questions if you dont mindI finished it last night, and I really liked the game...
...The horror elements were pretty weak and sparse, and in this way, it didn't feel much like a F.E.A.R. game. However, it was still a solid shooter, and again, in many ways superior to F.E.A.R.2....
The whole 30fps vs 60 fps is perfectly compared here - depending on how sensitive your eyes are you will either see a difference or you won't. I certainly do.

OK, you've convinced me. I'm downloading F3AR on Steam now. Hopefully it's good. I'm getting fairly cynical in my old age I guess but I haven't liked very many newer games.
I will be doing the testing on nv and amd cards fear 3 next week. I will certainly be looking into it.
Unfortunately, for those of us with GTX 400/500 cards the game is unplayable.
Unfortunately, for those of us with GTX 400/500 cards the game is unplayable. Waste of money to me. I've contacted the Devs on Facebook but they seem fucking clueless like most devs that put out a shitty PC port ....they clearly have no idea what the fuck they are even doing.
I'm tired of wasting money on piss poor ports.
Well, all I can say is...I'm going to be looking at it next week. You can bet my FEAR3 article will talk about the issue, and if I experience it, I may have some insight on it.p
nice.. well, the game is sitting on my desk at home and I am driving home from a work trip in 15 mins... should be installing in a couple of hours. Looking forward to enjoying a new game after the DNF letdown.
Dont get your hopes up too much if you are using nvidia.
