1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

Gaming (WoW mostly....I also like to play Diablo III, Skyrim, GW2, and various CoD games on occasion)

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?

I'd like to keep it under $400 total

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.

NJ, US, near Philadelphia

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.

Video card, I don't think I'll need anything else but I may be missing something in order to support the new card. See current rig below.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.

Current rig:
  • Case: Corsair 400R
  • Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45
  • PSU: Corsair HX750
  • RAM: Corsair XMS3 8GB DDR3 1333
  • SSD: Crucial M4 128GB
  • CPU: Intel i5 2500 (non-K)

6) Will you be overclocking?

No

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?

3150x1680 (vertical) or 5040x1050 (horizontal) (3x22")

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?

This weekend

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.

Don't need one

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?

Yes, Windows 7 Pro x64

I'm pretty sure all I really need is a video card (or 2). I'm undecided on ATI vs NVIDIA, from what I've been reading Eyefinity is better than NVIDIA Surround at this point so I'm leaning toward ATI. Some input on that would be helpful.

Moved to Video Card subforum. You should get more up-to-date advice here.

GTX 670 would be the best bet at your price point or a stock 7970 but considering ease of use with DVI etc id go NVIDIA with the GTX 670 at $400 its a good option.

from what i remember AMD / ATi has issues with multimonitor screen tearing although that may have been fixed recently.

that said if you plan to go multimonitor and your planning on AMD go with an HD 7970 cheapest you can find and do some software overclocking.
