Eyefinity experience tool

Bigger version would be better! :D

When I switch between single and multi, I can't help but getting that claustrophobic feeling from loosing the side vision. Nice tool for those that want to explain why they don't want to go back to single after going triple.

Its actually funny to try again. That tunnel vision feeling creeps me out with single screen in this tool and I game on single normally. :p The "loss of vision" effect is pretty significant.

wow. now that is the single best way to show the comparison ive seen.

definitely made me think about eyefinity for the first time...lol.

Hmm.... I was on the fence with Eyefinity. Either getting a 30" or three cheap 22-24". I think I may go eyefinity after seeing that. Thank you

I HATE YOU!!!.. damnit that makes me want it even more.. really could of used eyefinity when playing AvP.. especially in the level they were showing with the smart gun.. friggin aliens kept coming at me from behind and it was driving me nuts..

Anyone tried running eyefinity on 2 monitors? I know the effect isn't as nice, but I'm debating whether or not to buy another 2209WA.

Yep it was horrible for games. If you have bezel management on, you'll barely if at all see the crosshairs in games. You won't be able to shoot properly at all. Cars will have a gigantic bar down the middle, and that makes driving pretty hard.

If you just want it for programs, honestly there's no need for eyefinity. Just use the second monitor as external. It makes things easier.

Hmm, that's a good point, especially since the bezel on the 2209WA isn't exactly thin. Time to see if I can't make room for another monitor! :D

That tool makes Eyefinity look nice, but I strongly recommend trying it out in person before making the purchase. I wish I had because after buying 3 24" LCD's I ended up hating it.

Where in the world can you try it out in person, though? That's the problem...

I had the opposite experience with eyefinity. At first it was strange and I had a hard time getting used to it, especially in FPS games... but now there's no way I can go back. My roommate liked it so much he bought 3 monitors and GTX 480 SLI to have surround as well... but just waiting on nvidia's drivers right now.

You are the only person I have seen post on these forums who hasn't had a positive experience with Eyefinity.

What don't you like about it?

find a friend who has it maybe or find a store that might have it setup on display..

2 monitors is a no go because it puts the crosshair right where the bezel is..

This make's things really difficult. I'd like to have 120hz for CSS and I don't want to dive into eyefinity with TN panels. I'm still on the fence though because I know I'm gonna want to purchase another 5870 and I planned on doing that regardless but not until it was neccessary and they were hopefully a bit cheaper. I'm not sure I want to spend $1000+ on 3 monitor's and a second 5870.

If I go with a single monitor do I choose the 120hz Alienware or the U2410 and if I go eyefinity do I go with 3x U2311's or 3x U2410's.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...all I do know though is that I'm due for a monitor upgrade.

There was one other guy on here, but I can't recall his name right now.

These issues are probably unique only to me (and in hindsight could have been remedied to some extent), but off the top of my head,

1. The space that three 24" monitors take up is a bit much for the size of my office.
2. I didn't look at either side monitor all that often. My focus was still on the center monitor.
3. KVM complications switching between two different PC's.

One thing I'd like to say about #2 is, you are sorta suppose to maintain focus on center monitor and use the side monitors for immersiveness. One thing that took me a while to actually get used to was glancing at the sides when checking around me for movement besides what just my peripheral would pick up though.

I like having 3 monitors on top of Eyefinity as well, I hooked my 360 up to one so I can play 360, watch a movie, and browse the web at the same time lol..

1. get a bigger desk....lol..if you dont have the room though there really isnt much you can do.
2. you're focus IS on the center screen. the 2 on the outside are more for the peripheral vision unless the focus point shifts. put your hands up to your eyes so you can only see forward. now take them away. same thing. this takes some getting used to. i was slightly naucious for a week before i adjusted.
3. yea kvm would probably cause problems as they arent made to use super high resolutions. thats the kvm though not the fault of eyefinity.

sounds like most of your issues were based on the fact that you could have it the way you wanted it. and i can understand that, but you cant blame eyefinity for those issues.
