External HDD interface help

I need som help. Just bought a lappy and Im gonne get some more storagespace. Since i have a 5400 disk in the lappy (the weakest part of the system) I would like something that gives me real throughput and lessened searchtimes so i could put my games on there.

Which is the fastest interface I have e-sta, Firewire, and USB 2 availeble (and of those Ive excluded USB myself).

So please help - and if you have some product advice it would be appreciated as well ;)
 
e-sata. The performance should be nearly the same as if the drive was installed on an internal sata connection..
 
What I have done, is replace the HDDs on my laptops with a 7200 rpm units. Use your old unit in an external case with the eSATA connection.

May I ask which lappy you bought that has all 3 interfaces?
