I have Maxtor 300GB external HD. Recently i switched computers so i Put all my stuff on to the external HD to switch over to the new computer. I plugged it in to the new computer and made sure i can access the files on there. The thing is i returned my old computer so i no longer have it. The problem i have is that I need to add some files to the hard drive but it wont let. It saying the Hard drive is Read Only. I can take files off the hard drive, and open documents from the hard drive, but i cant edit any documents, save or copy files to the Hard drive. Now how do i get the hard drive off read only. I really don't want to have to buy a new hard drive.
