weird thing, Western Digital my book elite 1tb, I had utorrent running, with torrents seeding from this drive, I wanted to close utorrent but the task would not end so I rebooted, ever since then the drive does not properly function on my desktop(drive is detected. if I try to access it I get an hour glass for eternity), on a freshly formatted laptop I have sitting here, the drive works 100%.

I have tried the obvious, different usb ports, completely uninstalling WD software, and removing the drive under device manager, safe mode and still nothing.

Like I said it is not the drive, it works perfectly on my laptop.

I am stumped!!

Weird!

Anything in the Event Viewer?

Uninstall utorrent software and see what happens?

When trying to access the drive have you looked at the Task Manager to see if anything is using large amounts of your CPU or memory?

I don't know what was up, drive is working fine now. Very very strange, it was my H drive, I forced a drive letter change in disk management, COMPLETELY removed any western digital software and let it sit for a few hours, reboot, and now it is working. Still really don't know what resolved my problem though.
